The audience is open to all topics but they must be impressed with interesting and new things. Make sure they learn new information from your show. I talk about, science chemistry and murder mysteries to spice up my show. Keep them exclaimed with information you share.

1.Tell us about your background and journey.

I was born and brought up in a small hill station called Valparai near Coimbatore. I did my schooling there and was always a part of the limelight and was including myself in speeches, dance and art and all other extracurricular activities possible. I loved to expose my talents and those applause were definitely a cheer up.

I didn't want to choose engineering like my other mates. I know something relating media would fit me. I found Visual communication more convincing to me than journalism. During college, I did a few part-time jobs also.

After undergrad, I engaged my self in dance and emceed events, got myself auditioned V.J, series, worked in drama academy and then got into hosting shows for more than a year. I wanted more than this. Then landed myself in the station(at Dubai) am currently working at.

Off all the things I tried, I loved being an R.J the most.

2. Why did you chose RJ ing as a career and what were the first steps you took?

After undergrad, I was interning my self in Radio City, Coimbatore and found it really interesting about the whole radio network. Then I did a full-time Video hosting in Sun music then came back to the radio field again. Interning at a Radio station was my first drive towards this career.

3. What challenges can one face during live calls?

During a live call, you always have to have your answers ready and be spontaneous with your callers. I have a set of few standard responses to some unexpected questions. Initially, they were challenging but you can skill up by experience. As a Radio jockey, you have to be alert and vigilante.

4. What are the skills required to be a radio jockey?

The common myth is being loquacious can just be enough. But trust me it's just 20% of the whole requirement. Having your own style can make you unique. Find that out and work on that.

You must be a creative content writer too so that you can manage radio scripts, interview questions, ads in radios, also being precise and keeping yourself updated on all genre is the key.

5. Does one also need to be technologically savvy in your favourite?

You need not to be tech-savvy. But you must know the basics.

6. What makes a person connect with their audience as an RJ?

The audience is open to all topics but they must be impressed with interesting and new things. Make sure they learn new information from your show. I talk about, science chemistry and murder mysteries to spice up my show. Keep them exclaimed with information you share.

7. Which is your favourite book?

I like the book rich dad poor dad. I wanted to share about this book with everyone. Education taught us just to earn money. But I feel everyone must know about financial discipline more than that. And the next one is Subtle art of not giving a fuck.

This book believes in balance in life and drives you to learn lessons from things that have happened to you. It has many real-life examples and in it which makes it more interesting.
