We started out of sheer passion and love for food and photography. When we started this blog we never thought of earning but we treat is as our personal food diary which we like sharing with everyone.
1. Tell us about your background and journey.
Before starting our Instagram page we use to try new and unique street food, try famous outlets and restaurants almost on a regular basis and then we use to post that on our personal Instagram and Snapchat. Our friends then started asking us for recommendations if we have ever visited that place.
So randomly once while hogging in a restaurant we created our page with this name HUNGRYMUMBAIWALE (as we are always Hungry and we are from Mumbai). We are a couple handling this page and we are really proud of our journey that we are at and how long we’ve come.
Now it has been approximately 3 years since we started it and we currently have 10K+ followers.
2. Which is your favourite cuisine and dish?
Our all-time favourite cuisine is Indian Chinese. We can have Chinese any time of the day and if street food by any way can be counted as cuisine- we love Chaats, Pani puri, Momos, Dosa, etc.
3. Should food blogging be just a passion or can it become a regular career?
Back in 2017, we started out of sheer passion and love for food and photography. When we started this blog we never thought of earning but we treat is as our personal food diary which we like sharing with everyone.
Seeing our work in this field, brands do approach us, some for barter collaboration and some paid. Initially, brands will only look for barter collaboration and it is a great way to start. However, blogging can be the best career option. Once you know how to do it, you can definitely earn a monthly income through it.
Overall, Blogging is one of those fields where you can follow your never-ending passion for food, travel, photography or any other field of with no one telling you what’s right or what’s wrong.
4. Which restaurants/food joints would you recommend to food lovers?
We usually divide the food category into 2 parts- Veg and Non-Veg
Veg- Raju sandwich, Fort K Rustom, Churchgate Aswad, Dadar, Anand Dosa and Vada pav, Vile Parle Guru Kripa, Sion
Non veg- Kokan Swad, Bhandup Chaitanya, Dadar Kyani and Co., Marine Lines Bagdadi, Colaba Noor Mohammadi, Masjid
5. What makes you appreciate a particular dish or a restaurant and talk about it on your blog?
Taste. We would say taste as we enjoy eating. Eating is indeed a delightful adventure. However, something else takes place before we embark on this adventure. A study says, “Appearance of food has a direct relation with Taste.”
Our brain allows what we see to effect what we taste. A visually Stunning dish would taste more delicious than it already is rather than the same dish if served on a plate lacking creativity and skills.
6. Is there a dish you particularly associate yourself with?
Pani Puri. Firstly is sets your mood. Secondly, you can adjust it according to your preference and lastly, it brings people together. While the origins of this delicious snack are yet to be found out, the one thing that is clear is that Pani Puri has travelled across India and made the country fall head over heels in love with it.
The best experience of pani puri is in your locality. Also remember, after a plate of pani puri, sukka puri is a must.
