Sonali Dhanetwal Jaiswal - Big Journeys Begins With the Small Steps


Sonali Dhanetwal is a Sofware Engineer by profession. She also carries her passion as a blogger and content creator. She shares her experiences on skincare, lifestyle and food.  


1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I am Sonali Dhanetwal Jaiswal an software engineer by profession. After having a baby, I decided to take a break from my work and be with my son all the time. But for someone who loves working, sitting at home 24x7 was really disturbing. 

I decided to do something which I can do from home without disturbing my son’s time. I started my food blogging 4 months back and from then I am enjoying every bit of it.


2. What led you to start your page on Instagram and what is it about?

Cooking was always my hobby. But it was during lockdown, i decided to do something in this field. I started trying new dishes everyday and got compliments from my friends and family which boosts my confidence.

3. How would you distinguish the term blogger from an influencer?

Bloggers are those who right articles on some niche or shares there experience on a blog. They talk about a specific topic which might be related to fashion, food, lifestyle and share their experiences. 

Influencers are having large numbers of followers on social media platforms. They are the ones who influence others through their style. Bloggers can be influencers or may not be.

Influencers are very important for any brand nowadays. Through Influencer, brand can easily promote their product using the power of followers of that Influencer.


4. Is it financially sustainable to be an influencer today?

To be frank, its not an easy job. It requires lots of time, efforts, dedication . If you are good with your content then you will surely succeed.


5. What do you think influences consumer behaviour?

Trust and only trust is the key point here. The consumer trusts the social media influencers completely and it’s their responsibility to keep up the consumer’s trust.


6. What is your idea of success or your mantra in life?

Big journeys begins with the small step. Success does not come easy. If life throws you a challenge, fight back hard.


7. How can someone become a successful social media influencer?

Firstly choose something which you are passionate about and for which you can enjoy spending your time on. For me cooking was my passion. So I decided to go ahead with it. Also, you need to post useful and relevant content for your followers.

Your content needs to be regular and consistent.


8. Which is your favourite book and why?

I am not much into reading books but i like to read baking related books.
