1. Tell us more about your background and journey.

To sum up in some words about this long journey would be an injustice because I know the trajectory I followed wasn't an ideal one. An IT Engineer by Degree, Project Manager by Profession, and a Life Enthusiast, I knew I would never settle for something monotonous.

To shatter my own inhibitions, I started blogging about everyday life shenanigans in the form of micro tales, quotes, and poetry. One fine day when the sun was about to set and life was going normal, I got a message from a marketing agency to work as a Content Creator. Alien term, Alien world.

I just took the opportunity and went with the flow with only one request for working remotely. Our chords struck but the network was poor so we couldn’t work together.

And that’s when I started exploring the field of content creation. Grabbed writing opportunities from various channels, joined leading freelancing platforms, worked with a Web-Development/Digital Marketing Agency (still on-board), and started posting on several platforms to gain reach and followers.

Fast forward four years, I’ve written 500+ articles, 100+ web copies, 5000+ social media posts while starting my own venture CaptionWala - The World of Creative Captions.

2. When did you decide you wanted to be a writer?

Early in my childhood days, my mother inculcated in us the habit of writing a diary. She used to ask me and my brother to write down every positive word we heard or saw somewhere.

That’s why as we use notes today, we maintained a diary both small and big. It used to be our companion in school, play, travel, and almost everywhere. So, writer, I don’t know. But, the love for writing was always there.

3. Is it a financially stable career?

If you’re ready to hustle and get into it fully, then you can earn relatively decent. I’ve seen days when I started without any income goal because of the uncertainty. But, today I can say from my experience, all the writers aiming to work as a writer, you can earn in six-figures and more.

4. Who is your favorite writer and why?

To pick one wouldn’t be a fair decision. I love to read. Just when the writer touches me inwardly as if my heart is speaking in his/her words, I never ever leave that book without giving it a full read.

You just know how the protagonist feels because that’s how you felt too. And that’s the best reward any writer can get. I certainly want to be one of them.

5. What piece of advice would you like to give to future aspiring writers?

You are unique. No one can ever write the way you do and that’s what makes you special. Get out in the wild but don’t let the inner child die in the conundrum of this content overload.

You can also read one of my writing advice which was featured on the famous copywriter Eddie Shylerner’s Blog ‘Very Good Copy’ Copywriting Wisdom of the Crowd.

6. Which is your favorite book and why?

Gone Girl is one of my favorites. The character plot, suspense, and when immensely strong characters go vulnerable, you just know the author has taken you on his journey. You’re no longer sitting on the couch with your book but roaming along with the plot, living it, and experiencing it.

I found myself relating to the protagonist as well as the antagonist. Want me to convince you more to give it a read!
