Chandni Singh - Irrespective of Views or Subscribers I Have Always Given 100% to My Work

Chandni Singh a DIY enthusiast turned entrepreneur. Creating DIY home decor and sharing a lot of recycling ideas on Chandni's DIY decor YouTube channel

1.Tell us more about your background and journey.

I am a commerce graduate from Ranchi University, Jharkhand. I always wanted to become a banker but after marriage, I happily shifted to Mauritius with my husband and couldn’t continue my preparations. I am currently staying in Bangalore.

While I was in Mauritius, I was not having anything to do, so I used to watch a lot of YouTube videos (perks of having good internet connectivity which was a rare the thing those days in India) and I made some recycled home decor stuff just to keep me busy. In the meantime, we shifted back to Bangalore in 2017 and I decided to prepare for Banking again but my fate wanted something else and I developed a keen interest in DIY home decor and then I realised my deep interest in creativity rather than a boring 9 to 5 job.

2.How and when you decided to be a Youtuber?

By this time I was devoting my most of time either in watching or creating DIY home decor and I was looking for a platform to expand and one fine day I realised why not become a creator on Youtube (from where I learned everything). After almost 60 days of research, I recorded my first video from whatever resources I had which was an old camera and laptop, I posted my first video on Chandnis DIY decor on July 2017 and since then I have never looked back.

I always knew I had to be consistent, so irrespective of views or subscribers I have always given 100% to my work.

3.Please tell us about your Youtube channel "Chandni's DIY Decor" .

It's been more than three years I started this channel and today we are family of more than 330k subscribers on our channel. My channel specifically focuses on DIY Home Decor and that too from recycled waste.

My main focus is to tell my viewers that they too can make these home decor items from materials that they are throwing every day in garbage which will reduce waste from the environment.

4.How and where do you find inspiration to churn out content?

For inspiration, I look around myself and search for household waste that can be converted into something useful.

I always keep my eyes on the latest home decor item and try to make it at home if possible so that everyone can afford. I always try to make it with fewer expenses.

5.Which is your favourite book and why?

My favourite book is "The secret". This book has all the answer to your doubts, at-least it had mine.

I truly believe what you do and you think will come back to you. I found this book very motivational and full of positive vibes.
