Cameron Boyce was an American
actor, singer, voice actor and dancer who passed away on July 6, 2019. He was
born on May 28,1999 in Los Angeles, California.
He was of African, Caribbean and
Jewish descent as his father Victor Boyce is both an Afro-Caribbean and
African-American descent and his mother Libby Boyce is Jewish.
He lived in Los Angeles with his
parents and a younger sister until he moved in with former co-stars Karan Brar
and Sophie Reynolds in May 2019.
Cameron Boyce was extensively
trained in various fields of dancing like hip hop, breakdancing, modern dance,
tap dance, jazz and ballet. He was most fond of breakdancing and was a member
of one of the breakdancing crew called “X Mob”.

- He made his first debut in a music video “The Green Gentleman (Things Have Changed) as a younger version of Panic!
- He appeared in “General Hospital: The Night Shift” as a recurring character named Michael
- He then made his starring role debut in film with a role of Michael Carson in “Horror” and as Sam Holloman in the thriller movie - Eagle Eye
2010
- He starred as Keith in comedy film “Grown Ups” and also showcased his dancing skills in the web series called “The Legion of Extraordinary Dancers”.
2011
- He made a guest appearance on Disney channel’s comedy series “Good Luck Charlie”.
- He had a small role as Judy’s classmate in the family comedy film “Not Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer”.
- He was one of the featured dancers on “Shake it Up”, a Disney channel’s comedy series.
- He got a starring role as Luke Ross in Disney’s series “Jessie” (2011-15).
2012 - 14
- He got a main voice role in “Jake and the Never Land Pirates” for seasons 2-3 (2012-14).
2015
- He acquired one of the main roles in Disney channel’s “Descendants” as Carlos (son of Cruella de Vil) and continued to play the same role in the sequels “Descendants 2” and “Descendants 3” (2015-19).
- He got a lead role as Conor in “Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything” (2015-17).
2017
- He played a voice-role in one of the episodes of Spider-man for Shocker/Herman Schultz.
2018
- He was casted in Indie film “Runt” as Cal and in television pilot “Steps” as Becker.
2019
- He joined the cast of HBO’s “Mrs. Fletcher”. He performed in a music video for “Almost” by Hozier and choreographed the dance with Christine Flores.
Death Of Boyce
Boyce’s death came as a shock and
brought unending grief to his family. The actor passed away on July 6, 2019
when he was just 20 years old. His death was confirmed by his
family on the very same day and the cause of death was stated as “an ongoing
medical condition”.
It was confirmed by his family
that he passed away in his sleep due to an epileptic seizure which was a result
of his medical treatment. The autopsy was performed and was released by Los
Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner - Coroner on July 30, 2019.
Some reports have shown that
Boyce was found unconscious on the floor. It has been confirmed that the he
suffered an unexpected death in epilepsy for which he had previously been
diagnosed.
Many actors showed their
condolences through Twitter and Instagram. Disney lost one of its stars with Boyce’s
death. It came as an utter shock to the whole industry.
He was a son, a brother, a friend
to so many. People mourned his death and prayed for his soul to rest in peace.
Contributions And
Achievements
In 2017, Cameron Boyce
contributed in raising $27,000 for a project called THIRST PROJECT. The project
aims to bring clean water to underdeveloped countries.
He supported an initiative called
UNITED WAY OF AMERICA’S to end homelessness in US.
Cameron’s efforts of saving many
men, women and children from contaminated water was praised by the Pioneering
Spirit Award at Thirst Project’s ninth Annual gala.
He won a Young Artist Award
in 2012 for Judy Moody and the Not Summer Bummer and a Daytime Emmy Award
in 2017 for Timeless Heroes-Be Inspired.
After Boyce’s death, The Cameron
Boyce Foundation was founded in Los Angeles which aims to reduce gun violence
and cure epilepsy through campaigns, programs and financial support.
It also believes in young people
being empowered to bring a change in the world.
