1. Tell us more about your start-up and your journey.

Quantel is a virtual consultation platform dedicated to students and professionals. That aims to provide personalized career insights and 1:1 mentorship from Industry experts across various domains and strives to emerge as the world’s most affordable & interactive space.

Journey: Quantel’s journey began back in 2018 as for the ideation, in our sophomore year at university, when we realized the need for such a platform.

We started to think about ways in which the problems for students and professionals could be best addressed, even now when we have stabilized with solutions and gained traction on the platform, still believe there’s a long way to go along making it easier and better for the users every day.

2. How did you come up with this idea and go about executing it?

All it took was a few college students beginning their prep for the Big 4s or pioneers of the tech world and lack of legitimate curated information and guidance to cope up with the zeal of starting up the one-stop, directed, and legitimate platform for all career-related information

What we contemplated after researching our companies and roles for months & talking to faculties and senior was that current sources for the appetite of guidance are not promising.

The stagnant and stored content on the internet becomes outdated real quick in today’s time and moreover, it isn’t crafted to the needs of an individual An existing platform such as Linkedin pose a shortcoming for guidance seekers as in maximum cases the experts demonstrate a lack of interest in 1:1 conversations Unreliable at both ends.

Conventional domains have absolutely unproductive omnipresent guidance and non-conventional domains have nothing at all, we decided upon starting up with Quantel

3. What has been your biggest challenge that you faced and how did you overcome that?

Starting something new is itself a big challenge, but when you have everything sorted in mind, with a supportive partner and an amazing team, things start becoming easy. For us, the difficult part was finding an Initial Investment for our start-up.

It’s very hard to find a person who believes in your idea and supports you/ funds your business. And since we are college students, it becomes harder to get people on board and trust us. Trust that we are not going to let their money go to waste or leave our start-up in between even if it takes much longer for us to start earning.

We did get people who trusted us and supported us in the end, and today, I have a very dedicated team with me who works as hard to make our company grow and treat it as their own.

4. What are some of the most important factors for running a successful business?

There are certain points/ factors to remember, to run a successful business-

1. Team up with Like-Minded People- Students who can provide unique insights and observations, and contribute with different skill sets.

2. Explore your Surroundings and choose the industry you want to work in.

3. Research about the Market and already present or to be competitors.

4. Find your mentor.

5. Launch your Product.

If you have good time management skills and are passionate about your future business, don’t be afraid to get your pre-launch strategy together while you are still in school and even launch your venture before graduation day.

Take the time to figure out what you need to do to register your business and open up a shop. Hire interns to help out and consider pulling together some funds to take care of marketing and other business expenses on your own. I believe these are the 5 points one needs to make sure of before stepping out in the field.

5. How can entrepreneurs overcome funding and scaling up challenges?

I believe scaling is as tough or even more as compared to setting a start-up. Keeping in control of the amount we are spending and focusing to earn is a big challenge.

Then another one pops up, getting the people who are as enthusiastic about your start-up as you are. Who treat it as their own and help in achieving the company goals with their own.

A very simple point that I always say and implement, “A consistency while applying, always think for some scope of improvement with each investor pitch meeting.”

6. How do you define success for yourself?

Success to me is tranquillity, a point where you feel you have seen what you wanted to, where you simply feel content. Money is just a part of it, of course, it is very important, but I believe it is nothing when compared to the feeling you get when you see the motive behind your start-up getting accomplished.

I started Quantel keeping in mind the problems we faced during our sophomore year, our aim is to help all those students who go through the same as we did.

Our reason to bring this platform was to finish the lack of knowledge present about the conventional domains and almost non-existing information for the non-conventional domains.

So in my case, my success would be when our start-up will reach a level where one can say, you should look for it on Quantel, you can find your answers there.

7. Which is your favorite book and why?

My forever to-go book is “Zero to One” by Peter Thiel with Blake Masters. That one book has everything you would need to know before stepping out into the field. It teaches you how to think and what would be great.

No, it doesn’t have any points on how to start your business but it will give you every detail you need, to start one. It will tell you the definition of what real success and business is. I would say, every new entrepreneur or in making, should read this. It will give you a new vision.
