2) Brewing Equipment

3) Furniture

4) Electronics

5) Delivery Van

6) Argus’ Intellectual Property

As per to the Craigslist listing, brewery can produce 10,000 barrels of beer annually but Argus never approached and this made it a “perfect turnkey operation.”

Before The Brewery

Earlier, the building used to be a horse stable for the Schlitz beer company, a relic of when beer “was distributed by horse drawn wagons and sold in lard-line buckets in one of the nation’s first planned industrial communities,” according to the posting.

The founder of the brewery, Bob Jensen was trying to sell out the brewery since April 2020 as it was starting to get some interest. He bought the building as an investment and built the brewery in 2009. It faced lot of obstacles in running successfully for several years but eventually won medals at prominent beer competitions.

He said that he wasn’t aware of the posting and his real estate agent would’ve made the listings. He shared that he had an offer from two current breweries in Chicago area and three different business people, keen to get into the beer business.

Reason For Selling

The decision of selling out the brewery is an unprecedent hit from coronavirus and adding to that Jensen said that brewery wasn’t doing good. The sales were slow and they were unable to land on a ground for competing in the beer market. All of this pushed him into putting the brewery out for sale.
