1. Tell us about your background and journey. What led you to start your own group and blog and what is it about?

Born and raised in Dubai as an expat I have always wanted to do something for the expat community in Dubai. Very early on I realized that there wasn’t anyone bridging the gap between ladies from different backgrounds in UAE. Very often even Neighbours in the same area didn’t know each other and meeting and making friends on social media was frowned upon, a decade back. 

I wanted to change that. I wanted women to meet other women close to them with similar likes and interests. I wanted to bridge the gap between ladies from different countries. Hence the ladies group UAE mums was formed with the vision to bring the Indian and Pakistani community together. 

I got a lot of support through followers on fb and that led to the start of my blog. I think I was fortunate enough to have influence over people way before becoming a blogger the reason being that my charity work and events became a source of inspiration for many and women looked up to me. 

My blog is about my experiences, the things I love, the food I eat and about connecting smaller businesses to a larger audience.

2. Tell us more about your charity drives and events. 

Over the last few years I have had the opportunity to do a lot of charity drives and organize many events which have helped women connect with each other.

My charity drives for laborers in UAE, whether soap, toothpaste, lentils or sanitizers were widely appreciated by local media. I have had the opportunity to be featured on various TV channels along with Radios and Local newspapers in UAE & back in Pakistan, all thanks to the love of my followers.

I also organize fashion and life style exhibitions through my company Hena khan Events which gives women a platform to showcase their talent via their creations. So far I have conceptualized and executed more than 200 events through Hena Khan Events and UAE mums group.

3. What is that one cause you care deeply about and why?

I deeply care about educating girls. I have spoken for the same, time and then again and I feel that a women can change an entire generation and for this to happen education is a must. We have to pay more emphasis on educating girls as much as boys.

4.Who is your role model and why?

Every common woman is my role model as she fits so many roles whether it’s a mum, wife, working woman or home maker they are an inspiration and I learn from them.

5. If one wants to contribute and make a difference in social causes, how can one do it?

I think the best way to make a difference in supporting a social cause is to volunteer time, donate to it and encourage friends and family to do the same.

6. Which is your favourite book and why?

I have more than one favourite book but the ultimate for me is The Quran as it answers to the questions I have, shows me a way of life and helps me relieve stress. I love the strong message of peace and harmony it gives.

7. What according to you is happiness ?

I feel happiness is what you need. It could be a meal, a clean house, a car, your work, family, a promotion or even an outfit. 

Whatever makes you happy go for it and never be sorry for making your own self happy as self love leads not only to success but also making others happy. 

8. What is one message you would like to give your readers ? 

Whatever you do, do it with feelings and take it till the end. It’s never to late for anything.
