What it's Flavor?
It is one of the secret mysteries. Oreos, a sandwich cookie consisting of two chocolate wafers with a sweet crème filling in between, bring joy all around the world for over 100 years.
The Oreo Biscuit was renamed to Oreo Sandwich in 1921, then to Oreo Crème Sandwich in 1948 and finally it became Oreo Chocolate Sandwich Cookie in 1974.
First and foremost, Oreo cookies are very delicious and are vegan friendly.
Oreo cookies do not use any animal products. Nabisco also removed animal lard
from their recipe, making it a good kosher snack as well.
Who Invented Oreo and When it was Introduced?
Sam Porcello was Nabisco's principal scientist Sam Porcello, otherwise known as "Mr. Oreo.” By that point, Porcello was already a cookie legend, holding five Oreo related patents, including Oreos encased in white and dark chocolate.
Nabisco, The National Biscuit Company, now known as Nabisco, were the ones to
produce and sell Oreo cookies back in the early 20th century. The cookie was
developed in Manhattan, and the same block between 15th and 16th streets on
Ninth Avenue is called “Oreo Way” today. The name Oreo was first trademarked
on March 14th, 1912.
The original design on the face of the Oreo featured a wreath around the edge of
the cookie and the name "OREO" in the center. In the United States, they were sold for 25 cents a pound (454 g) in novelty metal canisters with clear glass tops.
The first Oreo was sold on March 6, 1912, to a grocer in Hoboken, New Jersey.
OREO is the largest brand owned by Mondelēz International, and one of six
billion-dollar brands owned by the company, including Milka, Cadbury Dairy Milk,
Ritz, Trident, and Halls.
How Oreo Cookie and Crème are made?
For cookie the cocoa powder has been alkalized so intensely that most of those
characteristic chocolate notes have gone. In exchange it does get some other
flavor notes, resulting in the characteristic Oreo!
However, Oreos aren't made from unprocessed cocoa. They're made from cocoa that has been refined through an alkalizing process which is often called Dutch process chocolate.

Donut Oreos. The limited-time bites feature Golden Oreo cookies filled with two
layers: one layer of pink strawberry-flavored crème with rainbow sprinkles and
one layer of a doughnut-flavored crème.
