1. Tell us about your background and journey.
I’m a 24 year old Bombay based Creative. I have a masters degree in Digital Marketing and Brand Communication. My journey with photography started back in 2015, on a phone camera during my daily commute to college which soon transcended into becoming my career in commercial photography and films.
2. What led you to start your blog and what is it about?
TheBalconyOfInfinity on a very personal level started as an idea to chase the philosophy of seeking infinity, seeking beyond the barriers and taking that leap of faith and attempting to live a great story and break the glass ceiling.
Over the years, I have seen my audience come onboard with the idea and we’re a community now. My primary genre is Travel and Lifestyle topped with a sparkle of Good Vibes - it attempts to build a narrative towards chasing that feeling of infinity and collecting stories while on the journey.
3. Is it financially sustainable to be a digital creator these days?
Let’s be real, when you choose to be an artist, you’re mentally prepared to work very very hard for a few years (at the least) before the money comes in, same goes with content - you have to give it time, nurture your skills, build an audience and you start seeing the whole vision board come to life - one flight after another.
4. How can someone become a successful content creator?
Success is a pursuit, right? You have to keep at it. Develop new skills, improvise your craft and have a lot of patience, whether you want to be a content creator or an artist / professional of any form you have to keep schooling yourself to be your best version on a daily basis.
Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither did Shah Rukh Khan become a superstar overnight. You have to dismiss the idea of overnight success and keep at it through the ups and downs, the ideas that come to life and the ones that don’t make the cut.
5. How and where do you find inspiration to churn out content?
Everything around me. I’m usually on the go - shuttling between airports, in a new city, meeting people, working and collaborating with creatives from around the world, everything is a story and I'm always observing people and experiencing places. That's where all my content pieces come to life.
Inspiration has to be felt, it’s something that comes from within, can’t be manufactured and neither can stories.
6. Who is your favourite creator and why?
Someone I’ve been watching and following before I ever started calling myself a creator: Casey Neistat. The authenticity (and feeling of raw-ness) he brings to his storytelling, you become a part of the world he creates and that’s something that’s always driven me towards his content.
7. Which is your favourite book and why?
It has to be one of my recent reads : Atomic Habits by James Clear. I’ve recommended this book to almost everyone I know, haha. I love how the book dives into the basis of building habits and explains actionable information about habits.
