I think as an entrepreneur you face a lot of challenges in different phases of your business. Delegation of work and making the team more accountable is very important if you aim to grow your business.
Tell us about your background, journey, and upbringing.
I am a software engineer by qualification. After completing my graduation, I went to the US for further studies. I enrolled in an entrepreneur development management program with Syracuse University, NY. I was brought up with great ethics and I give entire credit to my mother.
She was instrumental in imparting the values for becoming a better human being. My journey has just begun so it will be a little too early for me to say anything but I won't stop till I add more value to what I do and give something in return to society.
When and how did you get clarity on what you wanted to do?
I was brought up in a business family so I was always clear. The textile was and is my first love. The way my company has progressed in the past 2 years only reaffirms my belief.

After completing my MBA I headed straight to India and started as a management trainee with various businesses my family runs. After learning the basics, I started this company which is now doing a business of US$65 Million in just 5 years of inception.
Studies today show that an organization can lose INR 10 lakh (~ $17,000) on average on a wrong hire or for hiring someone with a false degree. The only tried and tested way to prevent frauds is via a thorough background verification process. What does your typical workday look like?
My day starts with studying all the reports from production, finance, and sales. After reviewing all the reports I meet the different teams. This consumes most of my time and then at the end of the day I hit the gym to refresh and rejuvenate.
Several global companies have come out and thrown their support behind not needing a formal education. What is your opinion about this?
We, as a group, have always given more weightage to experience. Formal education is necessary because it is a global market and to perform at a stage where multilingual people interact, it is very important to have a formal education. However, this does not diminish the importance of the experience one learns on the shop floor.
How do you handle someone who has lied on their resume?
I haven't come across any such case yet. We have a proper screening system that thoroughly checks the background of the applicants.
What are some of your typical challenges and how have they evolved over time?

But I have always believed in treating my team as my family and with that, they have become much more accountable than I would have expected from them. There are other challenges such as sudden rise in raw material costs but those challenges are business challenges that anyone has to deal with.
What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs looking for funding or those eyeing the top job?
The only advice I can give is that there are no shortcuts to success and one has to go through the grind to reach the top job. I believe that a person should rise through the ranks because then he will have a much better understanding of all the business functions making him a truly deserving candidate for that job.
Which is your favorite book and why?
My favorite book is the one I’m reading right now ‘Radical Candour’. I am learning a lot from the experiences shared by Kim Scott through her journey as a leader in different firms.

She also shares the lessons she learned from different leaders such as Steve Jobs and Larry Page. I’m still halfway through the book and I hope that I can apply all that I am learning from this book
