More than a blog my Instagram feed is all about food styling and photography. The most important factor that I appreciate about different food cultures is definitely their flavour, textures, colour etc. I absolutely love and appreciate how some restaurants experiment and come up with some great varieties of fusion food culture.
Tell us about your background and journey.
I am basically a Dentist, 3 years back when my husband gifted me a DSLR little did I know that I could actually turn my accidental passion into a profession. I was in KSA and expatriate dentists were not allowed to work as per the rules there. That is when I utilised most of my free time to learn the basics of camera settings and how to properly use them. Within a month I got the basics done but then the next constraint was my subject to shoot and that is when the food that I cooked came to my rescue.
This actually helped me a lot about lighting and styling food and slowly, gradually I started getting hold of food styling and photography. I initially started taking workshops for beginners in Food styling and photography. My first workshop was in Kochi, Kerala… I started getting more n more enquiries for workshop…people started recognising my work and then I started getting more clients enquiries for product and restaurant shoots. I have now shot for around 20+ brands and restaurants both here in India and KSA.
Me being an Indian I would always love to style and shoot traditional Indian cuisines with all those rustic dark and moody feel .
Should food blogging be just a passion or can it become a regular career?
Food blogging can definitely be taken as a serious career as per the current market scenario coz the world revolves around food and people are always ready to spend and experiment on different cuisines.
What makes you appreciate a particular dish or a restaurant and talk about it on your blog?
