AhVero - It Was So Natural for Me to Be More a Feeling Than a Decision (Fashion Illustrator from St. Petersburg)

Ahvero

I've always loved drawing, design and fashion since I can remember as a child. I realized the only way to develop this passion was to obtaining my diploma and master’s degree with a specialization in design.

1. Tell us more about your background and journey.

I was born in St. Petersburg, a beautiful city where art lives everywhere. I grew up in this artistic atmosphere, that is how I fell in love with this beauty.
My business now is mainly online and I am specialized in digital artworks.
For half of the year, I draw and collaborate on artistic projects from St. Petersburg. For the remaining 6 months, I end up travelling and following the projects of my studio AhVero fashion illustration all over the world, particular in Milan and Paris. Just now I am in Milan, completing a collaboration with an Italian partner about the collection spring/summer of his brand.

2. When did you decide you wanted to be an illustrator?

I've always loved drawing, design and fashion since I can remember as a child. I realized the only way to develop this passion was to obtaining my diploma and master’s degree with a specialization in design. So I can't find a precise moment of my decision. Becoming a fashion illustrator is purely the union of my passions. It was so natural for me to be more a feeling than a decision.
After all, the best things happen spontaneously, don't they?

3. Is it a financially stable career?

Considering that in my design studio we are working no stop / no holidays already a long time to solve all the orders, yes, it is a super stable career.

4. Where do you get inspiration to create art?

I am a fashion illustrator trying to illustrate how we apply trends and fashion in our normal days of urban affairs. And each of us is so different and yet so unique to be special and this allows even those who do not know us to understand from the first look something more about us, something real and unique.

In short, live art, true art. Something that no one can remain indifferent to. This is exactly what inspires me when I am drawing my fashion illustrations

5.  What does your typical day look like?

My typical day is really full of my work. I am always in close contact with my clients, partners, my work team and the sketches/models of the collections we create. I could not imagine anything more mirroring my soul and my mind for these days.

6.  Who is your favourite illustrator and why?

My favourite illustrators are Arturo Elena and Jason Brooks, they were the first illustrators who opened the world of fashion illustration for me.
