Macy Mariano - I Believe Every Blogger Is Somewhat Of An Influencer To A Certain Extent (Influencer, USA)

I honestly don't care what people think of me. This leaves me at complete peace. I will always do what makes me happy and what I want to do. The only validation I seek is within myself

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

Born in Charlotte, NC and raised in South FL. I am 29 years old. Scottish & Sicilian descent.

2. What led you to start your page on Instagram and what is it about?

I was an aspiring model in Miami. I went to many agencies in Miami and even NYC and at the time, no agency would represent me. So I took things into my own hands and started an IG profile. I saw what other models and future influencers were doing, and I started my own styles and trends. From that, the rest is history!

3. How would you distinguish the term blogger from an influencer?

I believe both may have some similarities, but I believe a blogger is different from an influencer regarding overall more day-to-day writing and making sales from their blog or website. An influencer I feel is mostly present on IG and makes any form of promotion on their IG or any other social media platform.

This influences their audience's buying decisions through their daily content. However, I believe every blogger is somewhat of an influencer to a certain extent.

4. Is it financially sustainable to be an influencer today?

It is for me! Social media is my sole job. It took awhile to get where I'm at, but anyone can do it with the time and effort they put in. Forming relationships with brands that love your content, usually have you on continuously for partnerships. This is key!

5. What do you think influences consumer behaviour?

Content! I think the content that is created and posted definitely influences consumers. How the product is shown and used is so important, especially in relatbale circumstances.

6. What is your idea of success or your mantra in life?

BE YOU. Always. With an overly saturated/competitive influencer market, being yourself separates you from everyone else.

7. How important is social media validation in your profession?

I honestly don't care what people think of me. This leaves me at complete peace. I will always do what makes me happy and what I want to do. The only validation I seek is within myself :)

8. How can someone become a successful social media influencer?

Time, patience, and effort. Anyone can do this with those three things. It takes awhile to figure out how and what you want to do with becoming an influencer. Scouting places to create content, iPhone or camera, developing your own style, and organization is key!

9. Which is your favorite book and why?

Hard to decide on a favorite book, but I do have a favorite podcast! Whiskey and Water is my favorite thing to listen to.
