1. Tell us about your background and Journey.
My name is Vivek Dusane (Sonar) and I am a Software Engineer.I work as a theatre artist .I am also fond of direction and writing good contents.I have a special love for theatre.Originally,I belong to Nasik and have completed my education till
high school from Nasik. Then later on I completed my Bachelor's degree from Sinhgad College,Pune. In Sinhgad College too, I used to be a part of many cultural activities and events like karandak, and many theatre plays Presently, I live in
Mumbai as I shifted here after completing my education Life was sometimes tough managing education and theatre at the same time, but I believe if you have something inside you that lits you up then there's no turning or looking back.So I
think this burning desire inside me always helped me to stay strong and manage my studies and theatre life simulaneously.
Recently, I have also done three short courses courses of FTII from which one was of film direction and the other was of film appreciation and production technical..
I have also done a short role in 66 Sadashiv Movie.
2. What inspired you to become a voice over artist?
I think Voice importantly plays a very prominent role in a person's life.It is the only thing which connects each and everyone intellectually. So according to the Hindu tradition, most of the people say that Goddsess Saraswati resides in us and is the gateway to our voice.
So I believe we should always be thankful to god for this gift. Along with communication voice also plays an important role in handling human emotions, handling different mood swings and many more. These things actually inspired me to become a voice over artist.
I used to record my voice in different tones and thus practice again and again which eventually helped me to do voice over. I truly believe that this field is interesting and tough at times too.
Because after all, it is your voice which defines you.
3. Do you often have to keep upskilling yourself?
I think every artist regardless of any field should always keep inventing new things and always have an attitude of being innovative which makes him feel rejuvenated. Every artist has an art of moulding his art in the best possible manner and this is the reason why he/she is called an artist.
This is because an artist has the ability and knows how to enjoy his life in the best possible way, because he continuously keeps upskilling himself whenever and wherever required.
4. How can one approach their career and have the confidence and belief to become an actor?
Well,in my initial days,as I said I was able to manage my studies and career simultaneously. Yes,sometimes things went difficult, but as I said if you really have a burning desire that lits you up then you can manage everything at goodp ace.
Because eventually, Risk hai toh Ishq hai..Yes,at times I used to get confused about chosing my career that whether I should opt for an IT career or continue with theatre, but then I got my things sorted and finally decided to do my career
in this field. Because overall what matters or counts is doing your career and enjoying it the best by giving your best.
5. For a complete outsider with inroads, what advice would you like to give?
For outsiders, I would like to tell you guys that focus more on doing theatre.Because this is the only thing which will help you groom and cover up your flaws if any.It also will help you gain and build confidence to a large extent. Also, I would like to specially emphasize as why to do theatres.
This is because you get to travel and explore different things, which will help you to experience the actual reality of the world and help you understand as in exactly how the world reacts to different things and will thus help you groom your acting skills in a more natural way. Because this will also help you to excel, react and evolve in this field in a more natural and easy way.
6. What is your mantra of success?
According to me,my mantra of success is 'BE MOULDABLE TO EVERY SITUATION'.This is because when we come out of our comfort zones, we get exposed to so many different things and then we to try adapt ourselves for survival.
We all know Darwin's theory of evolution which eventually states that the one who is fit or is trying to adapt itself will survive.Same applies in this too right? If you are mouldable if you are willing to do hard work,if you are ready to adapt
yourself then there's nothing that can stop you.Because today or tomorrow,Hard work definitely plays off.
7. Which is your favourite book and why?
My favorite book is Agnipankh written by APJ Abdul Kalam and Arun Tiwari. Its one of my favourite books because this book focuses completely on the life of Dr Kalam including his struggle, his willingness to fly high and touch the sky.
It really gives one goosebumps and the energy to fly high by keeping the sky as limit. By reading this book one can actually
get his wings of fire to achieve his career and succeed in his/her life. One should atleast once read this book because it isi indeed a must read book.
