I love women who hustle & know how to handle it like a pro !!

1. Tell us more about yourself and your life.

I am a self-taught makeup artist working for the last 17 years. I am based in Noida & have my studio and makeup academy there too. I started at the age of 27 and am one of the most sought-after bridal makeup artists & educators in the country.

2. What inspired you to enter the world of a makeup artist?

I saw a makeup dada work his magic on my friend at Lucknow Doordarshan.  I was 17 then, and at that moment I knew I would be a makeup artist.

3. Where did you receive the most hands-on training?

I am a self-taught artist & have worked my way up with sheer hard & determination.

4. What a day looks like for a makeup artist?

A hectic day during the season time means early call time & long hours at work. Travel takes us everywhere.  Understanding a bride's needs & delivery could seem easy but it's an uphill task to make sure everything is on point.  When I teach I am on my toes all day.  The makeup demos are 5 hours followed by finishing the look with the right styling to achieve amazing images.  Practice days are hectic too coz I am with students from morning until the evening until they deliver.

5. Who is your role model and why?

I love women who hustle & know how to handle it like a pro !! They are my inspiration and I am surrounded by so many.

6. What are some of the challenges and roadblocks you have faced along your journey?

I started with minimalism in the industry 17 years ago & initially I never got work for the same reason. However, I stuck to my personal taste & tasted success soon. 2018 my studio getting sealed in the sealing drive was a huge setback and it was a challenge to set it up again.

7. How does Instagram help you to get more work?

Today it's all about your social media presence. Have worked really hard in the last few years to keep up with the pace & yes it has paid off. However, I have done it all on my own terms & conditions & refused to follow the rat race. Your style attracts similar clients & helps you get work with like-minded brides, brands & people.
