Book Name: All Your Perfects

Author: Colleen Hoover

Genre: Domestic fiction, Contemporary Romance, Psychology fiction

Language: English

Synopsis- Spoiler Alert!

So, the story begins with a shocking note where our female lead gets cheated on by her fiancé. But it all happened for a reason that you will know once you read the book. The story keeps on changing as the chapters are arranged such that in one chapter you are all happy knowing how the main leads met and in the next one you will feel disheartened seeing their marriage at a bad turn after six seven years spent together.

It shows that if one just focuses on all the things that are wrong with us then we will lose things that are precious to us. The female lead wanted to become a mother and both of them tried everything by hook or crook but failed miserably. This made their happy married life a prison for both of them. They felt broken. Even after the efforts of both, the marriage was close to being at an end. There's also a part where you will realize how good parenting helps in the development of a child because Quinn's mother's behavior will make you feel uncomfortable whereas Graham's parents, although not birth parents, share a beautiful bond and nature. You will also find out how they saved their marriage and became a happy couple once again. It is the most beautiful part of the book. The story is binding and curiosity-driven at the same time.

Famous Quotes:

  • "Apologies are good for admitting regret, but they do very little in removing the truth from the actions that caused the regret."
  • "The problem is, love and happiness are not concordant. One can exist without the other."
  • "When you meet someone good for you, they won’t fill you with insecurities by focusing on your flaws. They’ll fill you with inspiration because they’ll focus on all the best parts of you."

Bottom Line:

It's a must-read book for married couples who also think that their love is not the same anymore or their better half doesn't understand them. The book feels like a healing journey of broken hearts to healing each other. It also shows that life may offer Category 5 or maybe Category 6 problems but how you face them is important. The readers may feel irritated sometimes because the plot changes from chapter to chapter. First, it's the story of when they met, and next chapter you will be reading about the broken marriage of those two. The author's idea of showing change was good but the suspense of what happened next is too much to bear till you finish the next chapter. However, you will love to read it as everything seems to connect and settle itself in the right places. The book is a must-read for everyone, no matter what age you are.

My rating for the book is 4.8/5
