I just thought my songs would be aired in max places. I always wanted to make people feel my emotions through my music.
1. Tell us about your background and journey.
Hey.. This is Ajay Arasada.. I started my music journey when I was in the 9th grade. My Sister Meenakshi plays Veena and my Aunts(Uma & Naga Lakshmi). So, unknowingly I was inclined towards music all the time.
I Started with Guitar but couldn't learn much (I trained for 3 months from Sharath Sir) since I am more inclined toward self-learning (Which has an effect theoretical though). I joined a rock band "Amigos" in my College (GITAM University) and started my own compositions at the age of 20. Later, I got placed in Tata Consultancy Services Hyderabad as a software engineer. So, I shifted to Hyderabad from Vizag.
I was occupied with many short films and got an offer to compose music for a movie named "Jagannatakam" and it was released in 2015.
I worked for another movie named "Kiraak" which was released earlier than Jagannatakam(Technically this is my debut). I Quit TCS in 2018 and Continued in the industry from then.
2. Who is your favorite artist and why?
My Favorite artist is Our ROCKSTAR Devi Sri Prasad. I was very ill (I was 15) and wanted to listen to a particular song and family members arranged for me to listen to the songs and then I realized that this man motivated me through his music. I have made up my mind to become a Music Director. I expressed this to sir and he loves me too.
3. What drew you to pursue a career in music composition and arrangement for films, and how has your background in Information Technology influenced your approach to music?
I just thought my songs would be aired in maximum places. I always wanted to make people feel my emotions through my music. So this intention is taking me through this musical journey. It hasn't influenced me much but since I am from a tech background it makes it easy to understand the DAW we work on!
4. What are some of the challenges you've faced as a Music Director, and how do you overcome them to deliver exceptional musical compositions for films?
Challenges are part of the game. It's tough to get a chance to compose music for a movie. Once we get a chance, we feel tough to get a chance in a big banner or for a big hero. Once we are successful, We find it difficult to maintain the success. It goes on :) I give my 100%, be it a short film or a movie, and I don't worry about the result.
5. Can you share some insights into the creative process of composing music for Telugu films? How do you collaborate with directors and producers to align the music with the film's storyline and emotions?
The majority of the hit songs come from the best stories. Stories inspire us to do those kinds of tunes. The director plays a key role in fetching good music.
6. What piece of advice would you like to give to future and aspiring artists?
Already we are seeing the youngsters are doing pretty well. I am also an upcoming music composer and I suggest my fellow guys listen to good music and concentrate on evergreen melodies. Managing people is the main thing along with music
7. Which is your favorite book, or song and why?
I don't read books, so I started writing a diary addressing my kid "Sri Siri" & my wife "Sowdhamini" in Telugu. So that she will learn Telugu at least to read this diary in her teens. And because of smartphones, we lost that nostalgic feeling. So I thought I would at least give her these kinds of memories.
"Aakaasam" from Nuvvosthaanante Nenoddantaana is my favorite song as it inspired me to become a music composer.
