2. How do you manage chess, education, and personal life?
Balancing the demands of competitive chess with the rigors of academic life is akin to walking a tightrope suspended between two worlds. In this delicate balancing act, I found an invaluable ally in my school, Velammal Vidyalaya. Their unwavering support and flexible approach not only accommodated my dual pursuits but also provided me with the resources and encouragement needed to thrive in both domains. Whether it was adjusting schedules to accommodate tournament commitments or offering academic assistance during crunch times, Velammal Vidyalaya stood by me every step of the way. Their belief in my abilities and their commitment to my holistic development laid the foundation for my success, instilling in me the belief that with determination and support, anything is possible.
3. How do you handle setbacks and recover stronger?
In the crucible of competitive sports, defeat is an inevitable companion on the journey towards mastery. Yet, it is not the setback itself but rather the response to it that truly defines a player. When faced with the bitter taste of defeat, I turn to solitude for solace, seeking refuge in the quiet contemplation of long walks or finding comfort in the reassuring embrace of conversations with my parents. It is in these moments of reflection that I confront my shortcomings with unwavering honesty, dissecting each move and decision with a critical eye. Rather than dwelling on the loss, I embrace it as a catalyst for growth, using it as a springboard to propel myself toward greater heights. I firmly believe that in the face of adversity lies the greatest opportunity for growth, and it is through resilience, perseverance, and unwavering determination that I continue to forge ahead on my journey.

From his unparalleled mastery of the game to his unwavering sportsmanship both on and off the board, Anand Sir embodies the very essence of excellence and integrity. His achievements serve as a testament to the power of dedication, discipline, and a relentless pursuit of greatness. Likewise, Judit Polgar's trailblazing career has shattered glass ceilings and redefined the possibilities for women in chess. Her unparalleled achievements serve as a reminder that with passion, perseverance, and unwavering determination, anything is possible. As I navigate the complexities of the chessboard, I carry with me the indelible imprint of these chess luminaries, drawing strength and inspiration from their remarkable legacies.
5. What advice do you have for young chess enthusiasts?
To aspiring chess enthusiasts, I offer a simple yet profound piece of advice: cherish and nurture your love for the game above all else. In the pursuit of victory and accolades, it is easy to lose sight of the intrinsic joy and intellectual stimulation that chess offers. Yet, it is this love and passion that fuels our journey, sustaining us through the inevitable highs and lows of the game. If I were granted a superpower, it would be the ability to peer into the labyrinthine depths of my opponent's mind during a game. With this extraordinary ability, I could stay several moves ahead, outmaneuvering my opponent with uncanny precision and foresight. Yet, beyond the tactical advantage it confers, this superpower holds a deeper significance. Savitha Shri Baskar, an Indian chess prodigy born in 2007, has rapidly ascended the ranks to become a notable Woman Grandmaster (WGM). Hailing from Tamil Nadu, her chess prowess was evident early on. By April 2021, she was recognized as the highest-rated girl born in 2007 or later, according to FIDE ratings. Her skillful play earned her a bronze medal at the FIDE World Rapid Chess Championship in December 2022, marking her as a formidable competitor on the global stage. Savitha’s journey through the ranks of chess has been marked by multiple national championships in her age category and a world championship title in the under-12 category. Her talent was formally acknowledged when she became a Woman FIDE Master at the tender age of 12, boasting a rating exceeding 2100. Her most recent achievement, securing her final WGM-norm at the Fagernes GM Open 2023, etched her name as the 25th Woman Grandmaster of India.
