Shilpa Chaudhary: From Facing Negativity to Becoming India’s 365-Day YouTube Queen (YouTuber, 1.1M+ Followers)

Shilpa Choudhary Interview

“Not everyone clapping for you is real, but the ones who believe in you can change your life.”

1. Could you walk us through your journey and what led you to where you are today?

"I started for fun… and it changed my life."

When I began this journey, I never imagined it would become such a big part of my life. Honestly, it all started just for fun — I wanted to try something new, challenge myself, and stay consistent. I had no idea that one small step would turn into something so meaningful.

I’m proud to say I became the first Indian girl to complete a 365-day challenge. Seeing articles being written about it felt surreal. But behind this achievement stood someone who never left my side — Sahil. He supported me through every moment, every idea, every failure, and every success. His constant words — “You can do it, you’re doing amazing” — kept me going on days I felt like quitting.

I’ve always been simple and grounded. I didn’t start this to become “famous.” What truly touches me is the love I receive from my subscribers. They’re not just an audience — they feel like family. When they meet me, send messages, or share their stories, I feel deeply connected. It reminds me why I started… and why I’ll keep going.

This journey has been about more than creating content — it’s been about growth, faith, and believing in yourself. And if you’re reading this, remember: start for fun, stay consistent, and the magic will follow.

2. What were some turning points or challenges that shaped your path?

"I faced fake friends, negativity, and criticism… but I turned it into fuel."

My journey wasn’t always easy. I encountered fake friends who changed when things started to grow, and I faced negative comments from people who didn’t believe in me or tried to pull me down. It hurt — a lot.

Then I told myself, “If they can talk, I can act.” That mindset changed everything. I promised myself I would prove them wrong — not by replying, but by rising. That was the turning point.

From that day, I stopped explaining and started executing. I don’t carry grudges — I carry goals. And every challenge has only made me stronger.

3. What keeps you passionate and motivated in your work?

"What keeps me going is not fame… it’s the people I love."

People often ask me why I stay so consistent and passionate. My answer always begins with Sahil. He’s been my biggest strength from Day 1. His belief in me, even when I doubted myself, gave me the courage to keep moving forward.

Beyond him, it’s my subscriber family — my extended online family — who truly keep my heart full. Their messages, their love, the way they wait for my uploads, or even defend me in the comments — it’s all so real, so personal. They don’t just follow me, they believe in me. That belief is something I carry with deep responsibility.

On days when I felt low or tired, one message saying, “Didi, you inspire us” would instantly lift me up. It’s not about views or likes — it’s about that unspoken connection with every person who’s given me a space in their lives.

That’s more than motivation — that’s love. And love always wins.

4. How do you deal with criticism, pressure, or public expectations?

"I don’t take criticism as a burden — I take it as a lesson or a filter."

Being in the public eye brings both love and pressure. There are expectations, opinions, and yes — unwanted criticism. Over time, I’ve learned not to let it break me. Instead of reacting emotionally, I listen and filter. If it’s constructive, I learn from it. If it’s pure hate, I let it go.

Earlier, I would overthink every comment and dislike. Now, I remind myself: “Not everyone clapping for you is real, and not everyone silent is against you.” Public pressure is part of the process, but I focus on my purpose, not the noise.

At the end of the day, I create from the heart. I’m not here to be perfect — I’m here to be real. As long as I stay true to myself and my audience, I know I’m on the right path.

5. Is there a message or value you try to consistently share with your audience?

I always tell my audience: believe in yourself, start small, and stay real. You don’t need to be perfect — just be honest. And remember, even slow progress is still progress. If I can do it, so can you.

6. What’s one thing people often misunderstand about you or your work?

People think it’s easy — just making videos and smiling on camera. They don’t see the late nights, the self-doubt, the hours of editing, the planning, and the constant pressure to keep showing up.

This isn’t a hobby for me — it’s my full-time work, my passion, and my responsibility. Behind every few minutes of content are hours of effort, emotion, and intention. I’m not just making videos — I’m building trust with every upload.

7. What advice would you give to young individuals aspiring to build their own identity?

Love yourself. Respect yourself. Never compare your journey to someone else’s — everyone’s timing is different, and that’s okay. Start with whatever you have and give it your 100%. Stay consistent, stay kind, and most importantly, stay true to yourself.

Failures will come, people will doubt you — but never doubt yourself. You are enough, and your story matters.

And from my heart, I want to say: I truly love my YouTube family. They’ve given me strength, purpose, and a place to be myself. If I can grow with love and honesty, so can you.
