Viddhi Giri – People Often Mistake Soft Living for a Lack of Ambition (Miss India Universe Finalist, 175k Followers)

Viddhi Giri Interview

"Softness isn’t weakness—it’s wisdom. The universe gives more when you stop trying to control everything."

1. From NIFT to Divine Feminine—how did your journey evolve?

Honestly, the idea of Divine Feminine was born from my deep love for wellness. I grew up surrounded by habits like clean eating, staying active, and prioritizing self-care—it’s always been a part of who I am.

When I moved to NIFT, I noticed many people losing that balance once they started living on their own. But for me, it was the opposite—I leaned in even more. I started reading, learning, and finding new ways to care for myself.

While studying textile design, I gradually realized the 9-to-5 life wasn’t for me. I began creating content in college, juggling shoots with classes—and it just felt right. Miss India came along and was an incredible experience, but even then, I knew modeling or acting wasn’t my ultimate goal. I wanted something of my own—something meaningful.

That’s how Divine Feminine came to life. It’s a space where I share my journey, my love for wellness, and hopefully inspire other women to slow down, care for themselves, and still chase everything they dream of.

2. Why do you think “soft living” resonates so deeply with women today?

People often mistake soft living for a lack of ambition, but it’s quite the opposite. To me, it’s about balance. We live in a world that glorifies hustle—if you’re not burnt out, you’re not doing enough. But that mindset is exhausting.

Soft living is about choosing yourself while going after your goals. It’s knowing when to push and when to pause. Personally, slowing down gives me more clarity, creativity, and ultimately makes me more productive.

That’s why I think women relate to it so much. We carry so much—emotionally, physically, mentally. Soft living feels like a warm hug to yourself. Sometimes, it’s simply sleeping in, booking a massage, or just being kind to yourself. It’s not about doing less; it’s about doing it without losing your peace.

3. How do you stay authentic in a space that rewards perfection?

I won’t lie—I do chase perfection, especially with aesthetics and my appearance. As a content creator, it’s hard not to. But I’ve been learning to be gentler with myself.

I stay grounded through small habits—using fewer toxins, embracing a natural look. Even at events or brand shoots where there’s pressure to be “perfect,” I sometimes show up without makeup or post raw, unfiltered videos. It’s uncomfortable at first, but it reminds both me and my audience that you don’t have to be “done up” to show up.

More than looks, I allow myself to be clumsy, to make mistakes, to say the wrong thing sometimes. I tell myself, “It’s okay. It’s not that deep.” That inner voice is my anchor. It keeps me human in a space that often demands the opposite.

4. What’s one myth about intentional living you often bust?

The biggest myth? That intentional living has to look like what you see on Instagram or YouTube—flawless five-step routines, sunrise yoga, matcha at 7 a.m. But honestly, even influencers don’t live like that every day.

I sometimes research things just to talk about them, and later realize they don’t work for me—and that’s okay! You’re supposed to pick what resonates and leave the rest. Wellness should relieve stress, not add to it.

Even as a wellness influencer, my version of intentional living sometimes looks like eating a packet of chips because that’s what I truly want. And I enjoy it, guilt-free. Because that’s balance. That’s real life.

5. How do you choose brand collaborations that align with your values?

Let’s be real—this is my job, and a big part of it is making great ads, which I genuinely love doing. But I’m very intentional about the brands I work with. I’ve built an image that feels authentically me, so the partnerships must reflect that.

For example, I might enjoy a drink once every seven or eight months, but I’ll never promote an alcohol brand because it’s not aligned with what I believe in. Same with soda—I’ve turned down big offers because I know the impact of those products, and they don’t sit right with me.

My rule is simple: if I wouldn’t use it myself, I won’t promote it. The trust I’ve built with my audience is way more valuable than any paycheck.

6. What did being a Miss India Universe finalist teach you about voice and responsibility?

I see pageants as a kind of sport—just with more glamour. Being away for almost a month, living with other contestants, navigating the entire experience—it taught me resilience. It prepared me for the real world I’m in now, whether that’s content creation or the broader glam space.

I’ve always been aware of my influence. Some people shy away from the word “influencer,” but I embrace it. I’ve had young girls message me, stop me in Chandigarh—my hometown—to say they feel inspired by me. That’s a huge responsibility.

Even if my audience is small right now, it doesn’t matter. I want to keep growing, but my focus is always on making a positive impact. That’s the heart of Divine Feminine—using my voice to inspire wellness, balance, and authenticity.

7. What would you say to women who want to lead with softness, not hustle?

If you’re choosing the soft life, know this: you can be more successful than someone who’s constantly hustling. Softness isn’t weakness—it’s wisdom. It’s using your energy smartly.

Let go of the need to control everything. Let the universe work its magic. Be open to receiving—love, help, opportunities—without guilt. Work less, but work consciously, and watch how much more you achieve.

Most importantly, protect your feminine energy. Anyone who constantly pulls you out of it doesn’t belong in your life. When you lead with softness, life flows—effortlessly.

8. If your lifestyle had a scent, what would it be and why?

It would be something soft and warm—like vanilla with a hint of fresh jasmine and a surprising kick of spice.

Something that comforts you as it lingers, but still turns heads when it passes by.

Because yes, I love the calm, the softness—but there’s also a bold side to me. I have strong opinions, and I’m not afraid to speak up. So, my scent would be that perfect blend of cozy and powerful. Feminine, with an edge. The kind that makes people stop and wonder, “Who was that?”
