Radhika Sindhwani Interview

“Makeup should make you feel like the most beautiful version of yourself—without hiding who you are.”

1. How would you describe your 8-year journey as a makeup artist and beauty creator?

My journey has been nothing short of a roller-coaster—filled with learning, unlearning, growing, and constantly reinventing myself.

Even today, I feel I’m not fully satisfied, because in this industry people often judge you by your follower count before they look at your actual work.

And artists who don’t chase numbers or trends as aggressively sometimes end up paying the price for it.

But these years have shaped me, strengthened me, and made me value genuine artistry more than ever.

2. What’s your core philosophy behind soft glam and flawless base looks?

For me, soft glam is all about enhancing—not overpowering.
A flawless base should still look like skin: smooth, radiant, and healthy without feeling heavy.

I believe in thorough skin prep, light layers, and choosing the right undertones rather than piling on product.

Makeup should help you feel like the most beautiful version of yourself without hiding who you are.

3. What, according to you, makes a makeup look truly timeless?

Timeless beauty comes from balance—soft tones, blended edges, and nothing too forced.

A look becomes timeless when it highlights the person, not the trend.
For me, it's classic, glowing skin, elegant eyes, and harmony in colours.
It’s the kind of look you can revisit after 10 years and still think, “Yes… this is me.”

4. What are the most common base mistakes beginners make?

The biggest mistake is focusing on coverage before prep.
Many beginners skip moisturiser, use the wrong primer, or pick an incorrect undertone.

Another common error is applying too much product too quickly, which leads to creasing, patchiness, and textured skin.
Base makeup is all about patience and building thin, even layers.

5. How do you balance new trends with your signature style?

I definitely try new trends, but I never allow them to overpower my aesthetic.
My core base philosophy remains the same—skin should always look like skin.
I incorporate trends subtly: a touch of shimmer, a soft lift, a fresh lip shade… but always keeping my client’s natural beauty at the centre.
Trends come and go, but your signature is what people remember.

6. What’s one essential technique every beginner should master first?

Blending.
Whether it’s foundation, blush, or eyeshadow, seamless blending instantly elevates your entire look.
I always tell beginners to understand pressure, motion, and the right tools.
Once you master blending, everything else becomes so much easier.

7. How has content creation changed the way clients connect with your work?

Content creation has made makeup more transparent.

Clients can now see my process, technique, and product choices, which builds trust even before they sit in my chair.

It has also made my work more accessible—one reel can reach someone who has never met me but instantly connects with my style.

Today, social media is my portfolio, my personality, and my storytelling platform—all at once.

8. Fun one—if you could glam any celebrity or fictional character, who would it be and why?

I’d love to glam Deepika Padukone—her elegance, bone structure, and minimal aesthetic align beautifully with soft glam.

I’d also love to create a modern-day interpretation of a Disney princess. Crafting a timeless, dreamy look with a hint of fantasy would be magical.
