Shreya Srivastava Interview

"People see the glam, but not the five hours behind every photo—this journey looks easy, but it’s anything but."

1. How would you introduce yourself to someone discovering you today?

I would introduce myself as a fashion, beauty, and lifestyle content creator, influencer, and model. I’ve been in this field for six long years—ever since the 2020 lockdown. Consistency has been a major part of my journey, and that’s one of the biggest reasons I’ve reached where I am today.

2. What kept you consistent when you began in 2020?

My passion was the biggest driving force in the beginning. I also saw great results whenever I posted—my content would go viral, which motivated me even more. Soon, I started getting brand collaborations and endorsements from major names like Garnier, Flipkart, Amazon, and Pond’s. In total, I’ve worked with over 300 brands—probably more, I’ve lost count—and I’m genuinely grateful for these opportunities.

My family and friends were also huge motivators. They saw my growth and encouraged me to stay consistent, which helped me push even further.

3. What helped you grow from 50K to 250K followers?

My growth from 50K to 250K followers came from extreme dedication. I took Instagram very seriously. If you want to grow a large audience, you must stay consistent, motivated, and dedicated. You need to keep up with new trends, stay authentic, and constantly innovate.

It also involves understanding the algorithm—even though no one truly knows how it works. Using the right hashtags, strong captions, and maintaining high-quality content are all essential. Staying updated with new trends, technology, and growth strategies also played a key role in helping me scale.

4. How do you stay authentic across fashion, beauty, and lifestyle content?

The only way to stay authentic is to be yourself. Fashion, beauty, and lifestyle have always been a natural part of my life, so creating content around them feels very genuine to me.

I direct my own content and use my own creativity, while also taking inspiration from creators I admire—like Aashna Shroff and Kritika Khurana. They’ve inspired and motivated me over the years. I follow trends, but I make sure to keep my own touch and originality. Authenticity is essential.

5. How do you balance strategy and creativity in your posts?

For me, balancing strategy and creativity starts with understanding what my audience likes. Once you know what they connect with, it becomes easier to maintain that balance.

I consistently focus on high-quality content, staying active with trends, and keeping my posts visually appealing. Creativity naturally comes when you’re inspired by others and add your own imagination to it. So the key is to be yourself, stay consistent, and let the ideas flow from your own mind.

6. What’s one behind-the-scenes challenge people don’t see?

People often think content creation and modeling are easy because they only see the glamorous side—photos and videos. But they don’t realize how much time, energy, and focus go into creating each piece of content.

A single photo or video can take five to six hours of planning, shooting, and editing. It’s a full-time commitment, not just a “light” job. Content creators and influencers understand these challenges deeply because we face them every day.

7. If you could swap lives with any creator for a day, who would it be?

This is a fun question. Honestly, I’m very grateful for my own life and the opportunities I already receive. But if I had to choose someone to swap lives with for a day, it would be Kritika Khurana. Her journey and story have always inspired me, and I admire her a lot.
