"Well, I believe every day is a fight, and if you dare to do something or challenge yourself and if it means a lot to you, you put in the work."
Q. Your Instagram shows the grind, the stage, and the silence in between. What part of your journey do people usually miss but matters the most to you?
I don’t focus on making Instagram content, but put out what comes naturally to me, hence the silence sometimes. I use this time to reflect on my work and myself. I feel people miss my original music now, as I haven’t released anything in a while. A lot is coming out, though.Q. Your bio says “Dare. Work. Win. Repeat.” How has this mindset shaped your journey, especially during phases when results didn’t come easily?
Well, I believe every day is a fight, and if you dare to do something or challenge yourself and if it means a lot to you, you put in the work. Then if you’ve worked hard enough with passion and utmost dedication to your craft, you win, and then you lose again. So start again. This is what I follow. Never Give Up.
Q. When you’re in the studio, what usually comes first for you: lyrics, melody, or emotion? Walk us through your creative process.
I feel this should also be a natural process. Nothing should be forced. Sometimes it’s the lyrics that lead me to the melody or vice versa. The emotions are also a present state of mind. Nothing forced, just as it is. I go with the flow.
Q. The music industry often pushes artists to chase trends. How do you balance staying relevant while staying true to your sound?
I don’t like the word ‘relevant’ at all. It is because of this and the following trends that the quality of music has gone down drastically in India. Every artist should focus on what they do best. Reflect a lot more on themselves and spend a lot of alone time too. Everyone is unique in their own way. Use that to your advantage and make something different. There is no need to follow trends. I have never done so.
Q. If you had to describe your music using only three words and one guilty-pleasure song you secretly love, what would they be?
I write and compose in a lot of genres, so this will be very difficult for me to answer. Well, one Guilty Pleasure artist- John Mayer- can’t wait to hear him live in Mumbai. Too many songs out there to name one.Bio
