Aavyanna Interview
Q. How do you define Aavyanna not as a digital creator, but as a point of view on fashion and selfhood?
Aavyanna is not a digital creator but a point of view where fashion reflects self expression, timelessness and pieces chosen from within rather than trends, pieces that carry character and create looks meant to be re-worn and remembered and grow more precious with time. Quietly elegant.
Q. Your bio describes jewelry as a language and period art as a muse. What is jewelry saying today that clothes alone cannot?
Clothes set the wall, jewellery gives character, turning that surface into something artistic. In the era of fast fashion, where changing fashion is faster than changing clothes, jewellery stays. Jewellery says what only clothing often cannot hold long enough. It gives a sense of wholeness to the garment, it add depth, it add character. It’s a powerful expression that communicates identities, personalities , speaking volume where a garment often falls in short.
I believe it beautify a garment. It often resonate deeper than trends a fashion statement. Talking about the period art, back then jewellery always served as a language in itself, a symbol of lineage, beliefs and cultural pride. That world resonate with how Aavyanna sees fashion today. She is drawn to the era where style was not about constant re-invention but about deepening where repetitive was like devotion where beauty grows richer with time.
In today’s fast paced changing fashion landscape, jewellery often embodies individual stories making statement of authenticity and identity. So while clothes may convey style it’s the jewellery that tells a story. Period art reminds her that fashion can be personal, symbolic and enduring.
Q. You often work with timeless, sustainable pieces rather than trend-heavy styling. In a content economy driven by novelty, why does slowness matter to you?
Choosing slowness and sustainable in the world fashion is just not about choosing a fashion segment but a way of living for me, showing what real fashion means to be, always remain truthful about my choices, my taste in fashion.
I believe slowness encourages a mindset and pushes us to consider and invest in pieces what we truly value and resonate with our beliefs. I personally believe in a sustainable lifestyle and promote sustainable clothing brand to help people making thoughtful choices. Slowness is not a limit. It’s a opportunity to elevate our creative process ensuring that what we bring into the world has lasting value and meaningful impact
Q. Many of your posts feel introspective rather than performative. Do you see content creation as documentation, storytelling, or quiet resistance to algorithm-led fashion?
Absolutely, I started my content creation journey to document my styling ideas, share my learnings about fashion and observations. Also I have a stunning collection of heirloom pieces that I feel compelled to showcase and demonstrate the world how to style your heirloom pieces into a a modern day styling, specially in this fast fashion world where we often ends up buying clothes and accessories for every small ocassion leaving a wardrobe stacked with loads of beautiful pieces which we loved ones and with this approach we are loosing our authenticity because we are forgetting what we actually love and running after trends.
So it’s high time people need to pause and re-think and start re-wearing pieces from wardrobe. And talking about algorithm, what is algorithm? It changes every day. It only bring traffic to you not a real engagement. Although you might get benefitted in short term but it won’t hold up for long if the content isn’t impactful & meaningful and bring some kind of difference. Algorithm can only bring traffic not a real inspiration.
So, I feel I should potray myself the way I am and share my thoughts and let the world decide they want to accept me or not.
Q. Sustainability is frequently reduced to fabric choices. From a stylist's perspective, what does truly sustainable dressing actually look like in daily life?
Sustainability as I mentioned earlier, it’s the way of life and not just another segment of fashion. It’s the holistic approach towards life and how we see fashion. From a stylist point of view, sustainability means choice of silhouette, how versatile it is, if it can be mixed and matched various ways of not.
Always choosing quality over quantity. Buying at thrift stores or vintage boutiques not only minimises the demand for production but also it helps to create your own curated vintage collection wardrobe. Also, caring of clothes is a very under-rated concept however caring right is only way of keeping your old favourites from your wardrobe damage-free intact.
Mindful shopping is another approach where buy when you really need it. And ofcourse choosing fabric plays a major role. Spending on a quality fabric makes a lot of difference and reduce buying designer copies , you’re paying designer a hefty amount for a reason, it really can’t be copied.
Q. You've shown how the same garment can live across festivals, winters, and everyday spaces. What does this say about re-learning repetition in fashion?
I believe in choosing versatile pieces, choose outfit which can be worn in every season for multiple ocassion. Repitition is not boring, rather it allows us to remiz our wardrobe , helps making sustainable choices. So, let’s celebrate the art of sustainable choices, turning clothes to timeless favourites.
Q. How do you approach styling for different body types without falling into the industry's narrow beauty templates?
Styling is about the joy of dressing, confident women is a beautiful women I feel , it’s a all about how you carry yourself, whole there are few basic rules you should keeping you mind about styling but no rulebook, it’s always a fun experimentation added by your confidence.
Q. As a digital creator, how do you decide which brand collaborations align with your values and which ones, even if lucrative, are worth saying no to?
I choose collaborations the same way I choose my wardrobe. Thoughtfully.
I believe in versatile pieces, longevity, and sustainable fashion. So I collaborate with brands that genuinely resonate with these values. The scale or budget doesn’t matter to me, alignment does. If a brand doesn’t reflect what I stand for, even a lucrative offer isn’t worth saying yes to. Authenticity lasts longer than any campaign
Q. If your personal style were a mood on a winter evening, what would it be coffee, silence, old music, or something else entirely?
It would be coffee, always warm in the hands.
Sufi songs playing softly, old music lingering.
And me, slightly withdrawn from the noise, inside my own world of imagination. A winter evening where time slows down, thoughts feel deeper, and style becomes comfort clothing, less being seen and more about being felt.
