Kriti Chandan Interview
Q. For those discovering you for the first time, how would you introduce yourself beyond the titles of Mrs. India Runner-up, CA, and digital creator?
I would introduce myself as someone who believes that every phase of life has a purpose. I was born and raised in Bihar, built my career as a Chartered Accountant, embraced motherhood, and today I use my platform to inspire women to dream without limitations.
My journey has never been about collecting titles. It has been about creating impact whether that’s empowering women through Madhubani art, sharing honest moments from motherhood, or proving that it’s never too late to reinvent yourself. If someone remembers me, I hope they remember me as a woman who turned every challenge into a stepping stone.
Q. You wear many hats Chartered Accountant, mother, content creator, and beauty pageant runner-up. How do these roles shape one another?
To me, these roles don’t compete they complement each other.
Being a Chartered Accountant taught me discipline, analytical thinking, and resilience. Motherhood taught me patience, compassion, and unconditional love. Content creation allows me to share my authentic journey, while pageantry gave me the confidence to amplify my voice.
Each role has made me stronger in the others. Together, they’ve helped me become a more balanced woman who leads with both confidence and empathy.
Q. What inspired you to step into the world of pageantry despite having a corporate background?
Pageantry was never about glamour for me it was about purpose.
After becoming a mother, like many women, I questioned whether my dreams still had a place. Mrs. India became an opportunity to rediscover myself beyond my professional and personal responsibilities.
I wanted to show that confidence has no age, motherhood is not the end of ambition, and a woman can embrace both grace and strength. Standing on that stage wasn’t just my victory it represented every woman who has ever put her dreams on hold.
Q. Many women believe it's "too late" to chase their dreams after marriage or motherhood. What would you say to them?
I would tell them that dreams don’t have an expiry date.
Marriage and motherhood may change your priorities, but they don’t diminish your potential. Sometimes your journey simply takes a different route.
Start with one small step. You don’t need perfect timing you need courage and consistency. Your children don’t just learn from what you say; they learn from what you dare to pursue.
When a mother follows her dreams, she gives her family permission to dream fearlessly too.
Q. As a content creator, what kind of impact do you hope your content has on your audience?
I want my content to feel real.
Social media often shows perfect moments, but I want people to see that growth happens in ordinary days balancing work, raising a child, facing setbacks, and still choosing to move forward.
If even one woman watches my journey and decides to believe in herself again, then I know my content has created meaningful impact.
Q. Winning recognition on a national stage comes with both appreciation and criticism. How do you stay grounded and confident?
I’ve learned that appreciation is encouraging, but criticism can also be a teacher.
I stay grounded by remembering why I started not for validation, but for purpose. My family’s values, especially my mother’s example of serving and empowering women, keep me rooted.
Confidence doesn’t come from everyone applauding you. It comes from knowing your values and staying true to them regardless of the noise.
Q. What has been the biggest challenge in balancing family, career, and personal ambitions, and how did you overcome it?
The biggest challenge has been overcoming guilt.
As a mother, you often feel guilty for working. As a professional, you feel guilty for taking time for family. As someone chasing dreams, you sometimes question if you’re asking for too much.
I realized balance isn’t about giving equal time to everything every day. It’s about being fully present wherever you are and accepting that different seasons require different priorities.
That mindset has helped me move forward with much more peace.
Q. Looking back, what is one decision that completely changed the trajectory of your life?
Choosing to participate in Mrs. India.
It wasn’t simply entering a pageant it was choosing myself again.
That one decision transformed my confidence, expanded my purpose, connected me with inspiring women across the country, and gave me a platform to advocate for women’s empowerment through Madhubani art.
Sometimes one courageous “yes” changes everything.
Q. Finally, what's your all-time favourite book, movie, or web series, and why has it stayed with you?
Rather than a book or movie, it’s a belief that has guided my life:
“Discipline will take you places that motivation never can.”
There were many days when I wasn’t motivated whether balancing motherhood, preparing for Mrs. India, or rebuilding my confidence after a career break. But discipline kept me moving, one small step at a time. I believe success isn’t built in one grand moment; it’s built through the quiet decisions we make every day to keep showing up.
