Board of Young Leaders Program Success Story: Rishibha Jain

How is the Board of Young Leaders Program helping you in your current role?

Before starting with my MBA, I got the opportunity to be a part of the Board of Young Leaders Program. The learning experience was extraordinary as whatever I have learnt had some or the other practical implications. This program groomed and enhanced my personality, making me more confident amongst the crowd. Presentations or any sort of public speaking are an integral part of any B-School curriculum and the program gave a boost to these skills. One of the most important learning for me had been ‘time management’, which has the biggest implication in the life of an MBA student. The best part about this is that you can be a part of this while pursuing your graduation/post-graduation.

What motivated you to join the Board of Young Leaders Program?

The motivation behind joining the
Board of Young Leaders Program had been the exposure that the student gets and the motto itself ‘making the world more informed’. With the fun-filled sessions you are able to learn various skill sets that are essential for the corporate world. A student gets to interact with different people, build networks, work on their personalities, in short, the program gives you more than you can ask for. It helps a person to evolve, get out from their cocoons and experience the openness.

What was the most helpful aspect of Board of Young Leaders Program?

The most important aspect of the
Board of Young Leaders Program for me had been the environment it provides for an introvert, like me, to get out from the shell and interact with the people from all over the world. Which in turn had made me a more confident person. One of the paramount quality of a leader is to be an effective speaker, and the leaders program highly emphasises on this skill. At the end of the day, the team strives to make you a better leader.

How did exposure during Board of Young Leaders Program help you evolve?

According to me, the
Board of Young Leaders Program played a big role in shaping me as a person. It provided me with a comfortable space to grow. I won't be exaggerating if I say that this prepared me for my B-school. Giving me a hint of what it feels like to be a manager and what all skill sets I have to work on. While I was with the program, I was able to work on my soft skills as well.

How was your overall experience in Board of Young Leaders Program?

This was the first internship I did and the experience had been amazing. You get to interact with people from all over the globe, build networks, plan things for the team, get into some deep discussions, have team meets, work on ice-breaking sessions, basically you take a lot while being part of this. And also you get to work with one of the coolest founders Ms Tanya Kathpal. No matter what she will always be there to guide and support you.

With this program, I got the opportunity to take interviews giving me a taste what it feels like to be an HR Manager. During this program, I learned the real meaning of time management and now I realise how important it is to know how to manage time effectively and efficiently.

Advice for young students to succeed in their career?

My advice would be to keep yourself open to new experiences. Indulge in some or the other discussions with the people. Practical application of what all you are leaning at schools is necessary for growth. Look out for opportunities and invest in yourself. With this, you are ready to conquer the world.
