Taste and Innovation Are the Two Most Important Things for Us - Ishika and Yashita

On our blog we share our love for food including easy recipe, restaurant/cafe reviews, product reviews and our enthusiasm for food photography.

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

We are Delhi based food bloggers cum two best friends and our journey started soon after we cleared our 10+2 exams. When our exams got over so out of boredom and our love for food we started uploading pictures and experiences on our Instagram page @not_tastedbefore

We witnessed a very fast growth and gained a very loyal audience within a very short span of time. On our blog we share our love for food including easy recipe, restaurant/cafe reviews, product reviews and our enthusiasm for food photography.

2. Which is your favourite cuisine and dish?

We are open to all kinds of vegetarian cuisines and dishes but being Indians we always run back to our roots. Also since being Delhites no one can resist the delicious Gol-gappas found here.

3. Should food blogging be just a passion or can it become a regular career?

If one is passionate about something they'll try their level best to make a career out of it. Though it started as a fun activity but as we grew, we became passionate about it and we strongly want it to become a mainstream career.

Although we're passionate about it doesn't mean that we'll put it over our studies. Trying to maintain a balance between the two is what we believe.

4. Which restaurants/food joints would you recommend to food lovers?

We love hanging out in cafes, trying out food of different types. Some of our favourites places would be Cafes in Champa Gali for aesthetics, Restaurants and clubs in Connought Place for partying and the list is

never ending. But when it comes to recommendation we would always suggest street food from different parts of delhi like Ram Laddus from Lajpat Nagar,Kachori and Aaloo ki sabzi from Streets of Chandni Chowk, momos from Kamla nagar, Chuskis and Kulfis from India Gate and what not to get the jist of who Delhites actually are.

5. What makes you appreciate a particular dish or a restaurant and talk about it on your blog?

When we talk about food, taste and innovation are the two most important things for us. The presentation also plays a major role, since we have to put it up on Instagram the food should be decently presented.

Coming to restaurants service, ambience and food obviously are the 3 mainstream categories. Personally we prefer aesthetic places.

6. Is there a dish you particularly associate yourself with?

Both of us are different in many aspects so we believe that just like Indian dishes are a combination of different flavors which combine together to form an amazing dish we both compliment each other in the same way helping the other out with their flaws.

7. Which is your favourite book and why?

We just not share the love for food but are also inclined towards fashion. So currently we both are hooked up on the book 'The Psychology of Fashion' by Carolyn Mair.

There's so much new to learn from this book about Fashion and its impact on our mental well being. I hope the reach of this book increases, specially in a country like India where there is mental health stigmas.
