1. Tell us more about yourself and your profession.
Born and brought up in Chandigarh, I had a very simple and comfortable life. Just a normal girl studying in the school who with time got really fat and not at all interested in sports. And the realization day came when I started focusing more on fitness.
A journey of 7 years full of mistakes, crash dieting, eating disorders, diagnosed with depression, anxiety and eventually having personality disorders due to so much obsession and no guidance and with time when I got better, I had a normal routine but still had an obsession of staying lean without much knowledge. One day I was just sitting and thinking about things I suddenly decided to learn about fitness professionally and started learning the basics of fitness online and realized that I'm really enjoying it.
Since fitness has been always my passion, I decided to go for certifications and I did it for myself. I had no plans of making it as my profession and it just happened. Currently, I am doing 3 other certifications as well, for levelling up my knowledge and giving the best results to my clients and since I believe in perfection, I always strive to learn more.
2.What is your fitness mantra?
My fitness mantra after being into the field is that fitness is not just physical but mental and emotional too. The hormones that cause stress can directly affect your physical fitness level too.

Fitness is overall fitness. You might be lean but you are so obsessed with yourself that you still find something wrong about it. Simply, concluding feed your body with healthy foods and mind with healthy thoughts will lead you to the places you want to be in.
3. What are some of the major misconceptions about diets and exercises?
Oh my God! Like there are so many. Endless, I would say.
The most common ones drinking honey lemon warm water empty stomach burns fat (I personally find it funny because eating pizzas and burgers and drinking that won't burn fat ) and same goes for the warm water burns fat myth.
Lifting weights will make women bulky, I mean the only way you can be bulky like a man is when you take steroids. Lifting weights is very good, it helps tone our body, increases our metabolism and therefore will burn more fat.
Ok, I'm taking this last one which I find important too, whey protein is harmful to health and there are so many side effects. So let me tell you that it's totally wrong, whey is a type of protein found in milk which is through processing separated and isolated.

The other type of protein is casein which is also found in milk, also there are casein supplements available too. The only time it will be harmful when you buy it from a deceitful source who might have put in some harmful chemicals just to increase the amount. So if you are buying from an authentic source, you won't have to worry.
4. How can one maintain a healthy lifestyle?
So, fitness is a lifestyle as we know. To maintain it, you should be flexible with your diet with the time and know what you are putting into your body. It will never feel boring or forceful when made flexible. You eat whatever you want but in moderation. Add flavours to your healthy food so that it doesn't gets boring, add a variety of foods.

Also, train your mind to be strong. I always say OUR MIND IS A GOOD SERVANT BUT A BAD MASTER. Also, exercise regularly, keep yourself active most of the times. If you like running, run and if you don't like it then don't just find something else that interests you.
Starting maybe hard but with consistency and trained mind, you'll be happy to see yourself enjoying the process.
5. How can one build a successful career in your field?
Learning from the best, my mentors always told me to be on the level of the client and understanding what they are feeling and what would actually help them. Already stressed person, if stressed more with strict diets and training can worsen the situation and results.

As a coach one should always determine the client psychological issues and then should decide how the plan must go. To get the best results in this field you must be ready to tackle all human emotions with full understanding and help your client reach a greater level of confidence.
We are not supposed to just give a diet and training program but see how the person is living his life, is he stressed? is he not sleeping well? Of course, we can't always control the situation but we have to counsel the clients and not misguide them for a few bucks. In this field, passion and knowledge both works together, without one it won't be a great success.
6. How do you track fitness goals?
Fitness goals and tracks go together. Always, whether nutrition or training, we have to track. Tracking calls and macros in diet and tracking the sets and reps and the amount of weight you lift. For diet, I use MyFitnessPal app which is very convenient to use and I suggest it for everybody but again you can use it only if you know how to calculate your Bmr and calls and macros.

Training programming needs professional guidance since there are high chances of injury and other sorts of things are taken care of like mobility, stability etc, so I would suggest that leave this part for the coach.
If for general, people I would recommend tracking how their clothes fit, how they look and measurements ofc. A weighing scale would be a good option for obese people but for the leaner ones can cause a little confusion so I don't really go by that. I personally use clothes fitting and measurement tracking.
7 . What is one piece of advice you would like to give someone who wishes to lose weight?
Always always remember, SPOT REDUCTION IS NOT POSSIBLE, you can reduce fat just from face or thighs or stomach, our bodies don't work that way. If you are losing fat then your body will proportionally shred it from all parts.
Second, CALORIE DEFICIT WILL CAUSE FAT/WEIGHT LOSS, some people say I eat less and still not losing fat but the problem is they are not tracking their calories and must be taking bites of food from here and therefore creating a calorie surplus or maintenance. So it's always better to be as near the accuracy level so that there are less chances of errors.
Last but not the least eating very less or almost no food (which we call crash dieting) will mess up with your metabolism so don't even try that. No need to go for dad diets, they cause weight loss just because they are made deficit if the trending keto diet is made to be surplus you'll gain weight. So In the end, Stay away from fad diets and focus on overall fitness.
