I have been doodling here and there ever since I know, but I seriously started it 6 years ago, drawing and posting on Instagram. Soon, I learnt digital art by myself and it’s been 3+ years that I have been posting motivational digital doodles on Instagram. So, I guess doodling just happened to me as a part of life's evolution journey.
1. Tell us more about your background and journey.
I am a concept based brand and marketing consultant working in Gurgaon. My work covers many areas and themes with a particular focus on designing minimal branding concepts and motivational based doodles.
Originally from the city of joy, Calcutta, born and brought up there, got my BBA and MBA degrees in Marketing as well did my first job there.
2. When did you decide you wanted to be a doodler?
I have been doodling here and there ever since I know, but I seriously started it 6 years ago, drawing and posting on Instagram. Soon, I learnt digital art by myself and it’s been 3+ years that I have been posting motivational digital doodles on Instagram. So, I guess doodling just happened to me as a part of life's evolution journey.
3. Is doodling a financially stable career?
Like any other start-ups, any form of art requires investment of time and money and definitely it takes a while to get a break even, make a name for yourself and then start optimizing your art and commercializing it.
So, like any other career, if making art is your passion, you will definitely make enough efforts to make it financially feasible for you.
4. Who is your favorite illustrator and why?
Well, that’s a tough one because in my opinion all artists have a different style and everyone works equally hard to put their art out there.
But, I personally love Chibird’s artwork!
5.What piece of advice would you like to give to future aspiring illustrators?
Work hard to find your style, then be consistent about it.
Do not take up work, or collaborations for money sake or name sake, if it does not resonate with your brand image or guidelines, stick to what you believe in and only do what you love!
6. What was you inspiration behind making illustrations on mental health?
I think when you personally go through a lot in life; you have a different perspective out of that learning. It is only then you realize the importance of mental health, positivity, good vibrations, etc. In a nutshell, my life is my inspiration :) .
7. Do you think your Illustrations help motivate your Followers? If so, how?
I am sure they do. But, my personal goal is achieved even if it brings a smile to even 1 person that sees my doodle. I receive a lot of messages on my Instagram, thanking me for what I am doing, asking me to continue doing this and also messages from people who share their personal life experiences on how my doodles changed their life! So, I guess it's truly said, you receive what you give out into the world :)
8. What are your future goals?
In short, I aspire to make thedoodledesk, the next Disney.
