Farhin Azmee - You Will Have to Face Many Challenges While Taking Pictures of Your Subjects (Photographer)




1. Tell us about your background and journey.

My name is Farhin Azmee, I was born in a small village in Bihar, India, and I was grew up there. My initial education was also there, then I did 12th from Mirza Ghalib College, Gaya. After that I came to Delhi and graduated in economics and did a diploma course in computer application and then I studied photography from Jamia Millia Islamia.

And now I want to pursue my career in photography, Because photography is my passion my life, without photography my life seems incomplete, and I'm happy to do it.


2. How and when did you realize your passion for photography?

When my brother gifted me my first smartphone, I started photography. I like traveling, I went to Kashmir, Himachal, Agra etc. and then I did photography there but only as a hobby. I loved it when I went to Shillong 2 years ago and lived there for 22 days, I did a lot of photography there and I enjoyed doing so. 

I sent my photography to my friends and relatives and they liked it very much when I realised that I should take it seriously. Initially, I loved doing nature photography but then gradually my inclination towards street and documentary photography increased.


3. What are some tips you would like to share with amateur photographers?

Vision and composition are an essential feature in photography. Once you understand this, you can efficiently use visualization and compositional techniques, and your photography will improve.

Observe the things around you, practice as much as you can. If you observe, you will see photography in everything. You can start photography from your home and it is not necessary that you have a professional camera, only then you can do better photography, you can also click a good photo from a smart phone.

If you are hobby of photography, take your smartphone and start clicking photos. I didn't even have a DSLR camera but I had a passion for photography, so I started photography from mobile. 


4. What are the important skills one should have to be a successful photographer?

Dedication is most important to be a successful photographer, your dedication to your work that makes you successful, Creativity and imagination must be in you.

You must have abundant patience and be flexible about things. You will have to face many challenges while taking pictures of your subjects, sometimes the light will not work according to you when you are doing outdoor photography, and sometimes a subject will not work according to you. You must have a good understanding of new technology.


5. What are various opportunities available for aspiring photographers?

There are different types of photography such as street photography, wildlife photography, travel photography, product photography, photography, documentary photography. First, identify what kind of photography you enjoy doing. Focus on the same type of photography and practice more and more.

Post photos on Instagram, blogs, websites and other social media so that your photography reaches more people, shows your work to people. Connect with more and more people only then they will be able to know about you, if they like your photography then they will like to work with you. There are many types of photography contests that you can participate in.


6. Which is your favourite book and why?

To be honest, I don't read much books, I love reading quotes and watching inspirational videos on YouTube. I like watching videos that inspire me to target.
