Keenan Te - Don't Give Up! There's Always Going To Be Set Backs But Use These To Motivate You To Work Harder (Musician)

I always set myself milestones and goals that I want to achieve, so being able to reach this and knowing how hard I have worked to achieve my goals definitely satisfies me. I also want my TikTok videos and songs to bring positivity to people's lives, so knowing that my followers can relate to my songs, or find it entertaining to watch my videos makes me really happy.

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I've been singing all my life, music has been a huge part of my life ever since I was young. I remember I used to put on mini concerts for my family when I was 4 years old! I have been performing for a few years and also writing original music as well. 

I downloaded TikTok as a joke at the start of 2020, and then posted a few videos which went viral! I can't believe how much it has grown in such a short period of time but I am so grateful for everyone that follows me and listens to my singing.

2. Does your taste in music as a listener and as a musician coincide?

Yes! I'm really inspired by the artists that I listen to and definitely want to make sure that the music I am writing is something that I would personally enjoy listening to.

3. How does performing for a live audience differ from recording in a studio?

I love performing for a live audience because you can feel the energy in the room and it's so great to be able to share music with people. In a recording studio you are just singing to yourself and into the microphone, which is a great experience too - but singing live hits different!

4. What satisfies the artist in you?

5. What are you currently doing?

I am working on new music and am also still thinking of new content ideas to share on my platforms! 

6. How did you build a following in Instagram?

A large portion of my followers on Instagram came from seeing me on TikTok, but also making sure that I was posting consistently and taking interesting photos or filming new videos really helped me. Utilizing all functions of Instagram helps as well, whether it's the stories, feed posts or Reels!

7. Any piece of advice to all the budding artists out there?

Don't give up! There's always going to be set backs but use these to motivate you to work harder. Also practice heaps and be consistent if you're posting on social media!

8. What are your future plans?

I want to continue to put out music for my fans and also continue to post new content on my social media! I would love to release albums one day and also go on a world tour!
