I think every show has played an important role in my career but I will give credit to “Shaadi Mubarak” because if I would have not taken up Shaadi Mubarak I would have left the industry.
After all, there was a pandemic going on, and I didn't know how my industry would function, so I had started my own online work to rely upon.
Tell us about your background and journey.
I am from Delhi and a Punjabi girl who had a lot of dreams in her eyes. During my second year of college, I loved watching Hindi TV serials so, I told my mom that ‘I want to become an actress and she got surprised and asked me whether I was sure about taking it as a career as I was planning to start my business. But Acting is something I really wanted to try out and so I took training classes.
I think from there this whole idea of becoming an actress started and eventually, I got the opportunity and here I am in “Shaurya Aur Anokhi Ki Kahani” on Star Plus.
Did you ever think or dream of doing a tv show?
Yes, when I got this thought of becoming an actor, I wanted to get into TV serials only, as I was keen on watching Hindi TV serials, so I gave auditions and here I am. It was a beautiful journey.
How can one approach their career and have the confidence and belief to make it on a tv show?
I think one can approach any career only if they have support or back from behind and in my case, my support and back were my parents especially, my mom whom I lost recently due to covid. I miss her a lot and the kind of support that she has given me was unconditional.
She was my backbone and she is still my backbone so yes, I think support, confidence, and talent will help you grow. Moreover, for you to get a platform you should search on the internet and for getting into TV serials you should look for the production houses and give as many auditions as you can because you never know when your stars get bright and you’ll get a chance.
It is really an unpredictable industry but what matters is the hard work.
If not this, what would you be doing?
As I have already told you, I would have definitely done my business and I also started my online work but nowadays I have given it a halt and started continuing shows after getting “Shaadi Mubarak”.
Which of your TV show marked a turning point in your life?
I think every show has played an important role in my career but I will give credit to “Shaadi Mubarak” because if I would have not taken up Shaadi Mubarak I would have left the industry. After all, there was a pandemic going on, and I didn't know how my industry would function, so I had started my own online work to rely upon.
If I had not received a call from them, I would not have come to Mumbai because I was shifting back to Delhi packing all my bags and leaving Mumbai forever, but I think God didn’t want that to happen how I got the part here. And, I think “Shaurya Aur Anokhi Ki Kahani” is also playing an important role in growing my career.
What is your mantra of success?
There is no mantra for success. This is a very cliched question I will say. There is only one thing that one should believe in is that your talent and a keen interest in any field when collide and complement with each other, one can achieve whatever they want to. You just need to believe in yourself.
