Nazifa Anzoom Medha - Because of the Slow Pace, I Got the Chance to Know My Audience (Digital Creator From Bangladesh)

I slowly kept trying different genres of content but my personality was too loud to fit in with anything professional. So I stuck to making relatable vlogs and content that most Bengali girls can relate to and enjoy. Both my Instagram and youtube growth was very slow and gradual.

It took me few years to come here and I am glad about that. Because of the slow pace, I got the chance to know my audience and they have become a huge part of my life. I call them ‘bros’ because they are like real-life friends to me now.

Tell us about your background and journey.

I’ve always been a very messy, lazy and unorganised person who’s desperate for becoming self-dependent and make people around her feel proud. It's a deadly combination.

I am Medha from Bangladesh. I’m 18 and Currently a full-time college student, part-time youtube content creator, freelance model on Instagram and a small business entrepreneur.

When did you first decide that you wanted to create digital content and how did you start?

Posting my first video on youtube was a very impulsive decision which I instantly regretted. I felt embarrassed, to say the least, but controlled myself from deleting it anyway. I had a little audience on Instagram at that time and they supported me a lot. And I’ll always be very thankful to them.

I try my best to make them feel the same way! I feel so blessed to have such supportive people around me. Here’s the link to my YouTube and Instagram, you can join the bros cult if you want!

Is vlogging and digital content creation a financially sustainable career?

Even though I put a lot of time and effort into my videos, my earning through youtube isn’t much. It took me more than a year to monetise my channel. The CPM of youtube revenue in Bangladesh is quite low. As a result, it still is not my main financial support. In short no, youtube is not a sustainable financial career in the beginning but it gets better with time. Currently, My main earning source is my Instagram and business.

But I prefer the happiness I get from creating these contents and the bond I have with my bros over anything, everything. The money seems worthless when I see the texts from my viewers saying my videos made their day better, made them laugh, helped them through tough days. I cannot describe the sense of joy I feel in words. It's the most beautiful feeling in the world.
The financial situation will grow with time. You need a lot of patience with youtube. If you don't enjoy your work it gets frustrating to continue.

How and where do you find inspiration to churn out content?

For inspiration, I watch a lot of videos. A lot. This gives me an idea of what kind of content I should make and how it should be done. Then I add my own masala to it and make it as real as possible. Some of my current favourite content creators are joana ceddia, Emma chamberlain, best-dressed, caroline konstnar, nailed Devora, Danny Gonzalez, kurtis conner, drew gooden and so many crimes channels, tea channels and documentary channels.

It's a lot I know! But all these different genres help me to combine all of them and think of something creative. My audience also plays a big role in my regular uploads. They keep me motivated by their kind words which helps me a lot to keep uploading.

What piece of advice would you like to give to future and aspiring digital creators or influencers ?

My advice to the new creators would be that they should try it out and see if they enjoy it or not. If you do not find happiness in doing something I do not think you should continue. Many people think it's all rainbows, sunshine and MONEY in this sector but I hate to pop their bubbles that it's not.

It takes a lot of patience and time to grow here and become financially stable. So please do not start youtube/Instagram with the thought of earning money. Do it only if you find joy in doing it.
