Rosie Abou Nassar - I Started My Influencer Career On Instagram, Where I Express Myself, Showing An Additional Side Of Me, Of My Passions & Fashion (Influence & Entrepreneur, Lebanese)

I could say that this paradoxical interest of mine mixed between linguistics, health pathologies, helping people, teaching, influencing, fashion and so on, makes me who i am, makes me different, successful, but most importantly makes me feel complete!

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

Born in Canada, with Lebanese origins (both of my parents are Lebanese), I had the chance to live my whole life in Lebanon, my beautiful country full of history, culture and multilingualism. I grew up learning three languages effortlessly (Arabic, French & English) since these three languages are part of the Lebanese culture.

I’ve always been interested in linguistics as well as in health & science, so wanted to study a major that combines both. I perfectly found myself studying Speech Therapy, where I got my Masters degree with distinction. I’ve been so passionate about my job, where I worked in schools, hospitals, private clinics and also started teaching at the university at the age of 25.

2. How did you come up with this idea and go about executing it?

Few years later, I traveled a lot, started learning a fourth language (Spanish), and did some life coaching sessions where I got to understand myself better, and realized how self expression is important for me! Everything I do is related to communication and expression! Starting with my job as a speech therapist, teaching at the university, taking dancing classes during my free time, to winning dance competitions in the US, learning a new language, Everything I love is Expression!

But where can we express ourselves louder?? Social media! So I decided to start my influencer career on Instagram, where I would be able to express myself, showing an additional side of me, of my passions, which is also, fashion!

I could say that this paradoxical interest of mine mixed between linguistics, health pathologies, helping people, teaching, influencing, fashion and so on, makes me who i am, makes me different, successful, but most importantly makes me feel complete!

3. What has been your biggest challenge that you faced and how did you overcome that?

The biggest challenge that I faced in my career was moving to France in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, where my work routine stopped and everything got mixed together, including my career decisions. However, this difficult period has taught me to let go a little and let life happen, sometimes we should listen to what the universe has to offer instead of trying to organize and plan everything.

4. What do you think are the most important qualities of a successful entrepreneur?

For me the most important qualities for a successful entrepreneur is dedication and persistence! Even when no one is clapping, persistence is the key!

5. What are some of the most important factors for running a successful business?

  1. Understand your own strength and use them
  2. The client comes first and he’s always right

6. What are your tips for first time and aspiring entrepreneurs?

  1. Surround yourself with successful people
  2. Do not compare yourself to anyone
  3. Do not care what people think regarding your business (if they don’t like it, if they don’t believe in it.. as long as you do!)
  4. A good idea is a new idea.

7. How can one overcome a hurdle of lack of funds when starting up?

Banks are here for a reason, use them as much as they are using you

8. Who is your inspiration?

I don’t think I have one specific person that inspires me, I guess I try to see the good from every successful person I meet and learn from their experience, mistakes and successes

9. Which is your favorite book and why?

“The definitive book of body language “ is my favorite book, I think every person should read it. Body language is for me the self expression that we least know how to control, and this book makes us read and better understand others’ intentions, and convey a message without having to speak.
