I think because I love what I do and I like storytelling. People can connect with me and my content because I show the reality. Ups and downs of travel. My content is based on my real experience.
1. Tell us about your upbringing and journey.
I grew up in a normal and ordinary family in Tehran, the capital of Iran. When I finished high school, while I was studying for university, I applied for a course in journalism. I did the course and I was invited to work as a reporter on a national TV in the country. While I was working, I didn't give up on studying.
At the time, I was studying software engineer. I was working hard and I was one of the youngest amongst my colleagues and something incredible happened. I won a prize for the best TV PKG report which helped me to be known in my field.
After a while, I decided to change my major and quit studying software engineering and started studying Spanish. I got my BA in Spanish language, then for my master, I applied for tourism and hospitality management in one of the UK's universities and I was accepted. Then my new life in the UK began.
2. When did you start travelling and how did you decide to start your blog/ Instagram page?
For as long as I remember I loved travelling and I always found opportunities to travel to different places. As a journalist, I visited many unique places that ordinary people don't have access to. I also travelled alone or with friends almost any day I didn't need to work.
So to answer your question, I should say travelling has been a big part of my life, even before YouTube and Instagram existed. I can't remember when I started Instagram, but I know that at the time, I just used the platform for its unique filters and it wasn't a popular app. But I remember how I started my blog. As a journalist, I always had blogs, in one of them I was writing about the behind scene of my reports.
When I moved to the UK, I created a personal website, which was mostly like a profile website. I started writing about my trip. then I found out there are many people doing the same and they have a travel blog. So, I learned from them and created the "Travel with Mansoureh" blog. Since then I publish my personal travel stories, tips and travel guides on that.
3. What are the best road trips that you took?
I have taken many road trips and it is hard to pick one because travelling by car is one of my favourite ways of travelling. But if I have to pick one, I would say the road trip we took in Iceland.
We rented a van and that van was our home for two weeks. We went around the whole country with our home. We visited some unique places on the earth and we were always close to our home. It gave us so much freedom.
4. What do you think made your content popular?
I think because I love what I do and I like storytelling. People can connect with me and my content because I show the reality. Ups and downs of travel. My content is based on my real experience.
5. Which is your favourite travel destination in your country and the world?
5. Which is your favourite travel destination in your country and the world?
There are many places that I love to go back to again and again. I believe what makes any destination lovable is its people, food, culture and its landscape. That is why my favourite destinations are Turkey and Italy. I have been to both countries several times and I still would love to go back.
6. Are you someone who likes to take control of the wheel or stay back whilst enjoying the scenic vistas?
6. Are you someone who likes to take control of the wheel or stay back whilst enjoying the scenic vistas?
I can say that I am a bit of both. In some situations, I love to take control, but in some other situations, I like to be surprised by the unexpected. In general, we can't control everything in life that is why sometimes we should let it go but in some situations, if we don't take control, we lose it all.
7. How can travellers in your country boost local tourism and help uplift the hospitality industry?
Since I lived in the UK for the last 10 years, I count it as my country. I was used to travelling abroad instead of travelling domestically, but during the last couple of years because of the pandemic, I had the chance to explore different parts of the UK.
I created so much content about travelling in the UK and tried to help others to choose the destinations within the country wisely. I wasn't the only one who did that, many content creators did the same and this was the opportunity for everyone.
As much as I like travelling domestically, I love travelling to different countries. You only can experience different cultures, food, lifestyles by travelling to other parts of this planet. Travelling is an education for me. Whenever I travel to a new place, I learn a new lesson.
