1.
Tell us about your background and journey.
I have completed my schooling in sboa and college in Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College. Did mechanical engineering. Had a fondness for cinema at my very young age but during college days I found out that it has developed into a passion for me and also wanted to take cinema as a profession.
After college my readings and quest were fully towards cinema, direction was my field of interest. But exhibiting myself, and performing in front of relatives and friends gave me a lot of happiness and it was inside me. So I loved acting too. That time I was not quite sure.
After that joined as an
Assistant director to Rajeshwar for a telefilm. We shot AANDA PARAMBARAI and
the writer of that was my brother Prasanna Balachandran and Sassi and Chella
were actors in it. That's how the initial team started.
2.
Did you ever think or dream of being an actor?
I always had that urge in me but at the same time I was not sure whether I could attain my dream, so I was hesitant. After working as an assistant director, I was given some roles to act as we needed faces. So did it.
After that Rajesh and Prasanna insisted that I act more and
started acting and slowly was totally into it, learning about it, the basics
and acting techniques, and enjoying the pleasure of acting and the reception
and love I started getting.
3. How can one approach their career and have the confidence and belief to become an actor?

one step at a time, not concentrating on the result but concentrating on the
process are the things which will be of great importance to travel as an actor.
4.
If not this, what would you be doing?
I strongly believe, nothing else I would have
been doing. This fills me and makes me feel alive.
5.
What is your mantra of success?
I myself am in a process towards it. Just
enjoying the process is what I’m doing right now.
6.
Which is your favorite book and why?
Lots of books. I generally love Russian
literature. Right now I am reading Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky.
