Inspiration From novel written by Kalki

This complete story is a digital version of the novel Ponniyin Selvan which is written by Kalki the great writer. Even the novel is based on true history but with a few extra imaginary characters and kinds of stuff involved in it to make it more interesting to read.

Characterization

Source: Bollywood Hungama

Every character in this movie was utterly researched and implemented in the movie from the novel. Jayam Ravi as Aruzhmozhi Varman, Vikram as Adhithya Karigalan, Thrisha as Kundhavai Natchiyar, Aishwarya Rai as Nandhini Dhevi, Prakash Raj as Sundhar Chozhan and so on.

Every character where nailed their acting n their unique way. Especially Karikalan, the greatest warrior made everyone forget themselves in his natural acting. Even though his screen time is less, he ruled the movie's first half.

Personal Verdict

Source: fansexpress.in

As a normal audience, I loved the character-making of Adhithya Karigalan (Vikram) who is the ex-lover of Nandhini (Aishwarya Rai) because the way he was treated and the way he was struggling in the story to get out of the thought of betrayal and his ex-lover is deeply connected with me. Even though his part in the story is imaginary, I couldn’t accept the injustice that happened to him.

"Ponniyin Selvan" is an epic historical drama that will leave a lasting impact on the audience. With exceptional performances, breathtaking visuals, and a gripping storyline, the film is a cinematic masterpiece that is not to be missed.
