Formal training under a music instructor can significantly accelerate learning and help rectify mistakes more effectively

1. Tell us more about your background and journey.

My name is Adv. Yash D. Mittal. I completed my schooling at KVOFD Raipur in Dehradun and pursued my graduation and Law from Dav PG College. Currently, I am pursuing my LLM and Masters in Music. I've always believed in confronting things that initially scare me; for instance, I had stage fright initially, so I decided to tackle it head-on. Additionally, I've always been driven to stand against injustice, which led me to pursue law.

2. When did you first decide you wanted to pursue music and how did you start?

My journey in music began during my 11th standard. Despite experiencing stage fright, I performed live in front of 1500 people at school. That experience was transformative, and from that moment on, I was determined to pursue music alongside my academic pursuits. I firmly believe that focusing on music, in the right direction, can be a lucrative profession.

3. Who is your favorite artist and why?

My favorite artist is Vishal Mishra because of his captivating voice texture and his ability to present complex compositions with simplicity and beauty.

4. Can you shed some light on the opportunities available for singers?

There are numerous opportunities available for singers. Apart from honing skills in dealing with various emotions and moods, one can pursue careers in live singing, stage shows, teaching music, YouTube, music platforms, research, instrument distribution, music stores, instrument making, and more.

5. Is formal training necessary, or can one rely solely on talent?

While it's possible to learn music independently, formal training under a music instructor can significantly accelerate learning and help rectify mistakes more effectively. Moreover, formal training and certification are often required for teaching music professionally in schools and universities.

6. What advice would you like to give to future and aspiring artists?

My advice to aspiring artists is to never give up on music. It not only serves as a creative outlet but also enhances multitasking abilities, helps in managing stress, and fosters a deeper understanding of human emotions and behavior. Remember, discipline is key to success; while motivation may falter, discipline will carry you through.

7. Which is your favorite book and why?

My favorite book is the Bhagavad Geeta because it offers solutions to life's challenges and teaches the principles of leading a happy, truthful, and righteous life.
