| I started a new Instagram page dedicated to guiding students, motivating them on the resources and strategies essential for cracking top companies and securing good job offers. |
1. Tell us about your background and journey.
I was born in Rohtak ,Haryana, where I did my schooling and dreamt of becoming a doctor and attended NEET coaching. Despite several tries, I couldn't get into MBBS but due to having PCMB in class 12, I pursued Btech in CSE from DCRUST University, Haryana. It was tough not getting into my desired field and studying in a Tier 3 engineering college. I faced setbacks during my academic journey.
In my 5th semester, rejection from an on-campus internship at Fidelity International really hurt because it was the only company that visited our campus for internships. But I didn't give up. I started with an unpaid internship, learning for three months.
It paid off when I got a six-month paid internship there only and now I was leading a team of interns as an intern team leader. During graduation, I gained 20 months of internship experience in different roles. With this, I got six job offers, including Walmart a top product based company and now I have spent the last two years growing as a software engineer, grateful for the journey that brought me here.
2. When did you first decide that you wanted to create content and how did you start?
I always wanted to guide and support college students, especially those from Tier 3 colleges, in their journey toward securing promising job opportunities. Last year, I conducted multiple free online one-on-one sessions with college students, aiming to provide them with valuable insights and guidance to navigate the competitive job market successfully.
Inspired by the impact of these sessions and driven by the desire to extend my assistance to a wider audience, I decided to take a step further. In January 2024, I started a new Instagram page dedicated to guiding students, motivating them on the resources and strategies essential for cracking top companies and securing good job offers.
3. What impact do you want to make in the world?
I want to inspire people by showing them that it's possible to overcome tough times. Even when things didn't go my way, I didn't give up. I want to tell my story to encourage others to keep trying, even when life gets hard. My hope is that by sharing my experiences and life lessons, I can help people believe in themselves. I just want to make a world where everyone knows they can make it through tough times and reach their goals.
4. How do you guide students?
I guide students by sharing my experiences and offering practical advice. I listen to their concerns and help them identify their strengths and weaknesses. Then, I provide them with resources, study tips, and strategies to overcome challenges, whether it's preparing for college placements, improving study habits, or conducting mock interviews to enhance their skills. I offer personalized support tailored to each student's needs and encourage them to set realistic goals and stay motivated.
5. What does your typical day look like?
My typical day starts with diving into my role as a software engineer at the office. I collaborate with my team, tackle coding challenges, and work on projects to meet deadlines. After a productive day, I transition to creating content in the evenings.
Whether it's writing LinkedIn posts, recording Instagram videos, or preparing materials for online sessions, I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experiences with others. Balancing my technical work with content creation allows me to contribute to both my professional field and the wider community, fulfilling my passion for teaching and guiding others.
6. Which is your favourite book and why?
A book by Swami Vivekananda named "Inspired Talks," contains his inspiring speeches and teachings on various aspects of life, spirituality, and self-improvement.
