"A life purpose is something that makes you smile and sleep peacefully at night."
Life coaching was never on my mind. I am a pregnancy coach who supports women through their pregnancy. I came across a workshop that spoke about life coaching and felt that it would add on to my skills set to help pregnant women better. That is what made me to become a life coach.
Q. In your experience, what are the most effective strategies for setting and achieving personal goals?
Clarity and consistency. You need to be clear on your goals and consistently take one step towards your goals everyday.
Q. Friendships can sometimes be just as complicated as romantic relationships. How do you help someone navigate toxic friendships and foster healthier connections?
Any relationship, romantic or friendship, needs 2 things - communication and transparency. These two will help build trust and the sense of safety needed for a strong relationship. Also trust your instinct. This will help you to identify toxic friends. A toxic friend can deplete your energy and make you lose confidence and focus in life while a good friend will help you to grow and glow in life.
Q. What are the most important qualities or values that you believe people need to cultivate in order to thrive in both personal and professional life?
Transparency, setting boundaries, goal setting and working consistency towards your goals. These are in all areas of life - personal, relationship, health and professional.
Q. How do you guide someone who feels lost or directionless, especially when they struggle to find their true purpose or passion?
There is a big misconception that a life purpose or passion has to be something big and life changing. But in reality, it does not have to be. Someone can be satisfied taking care of their family or being a mother or working a simple fixed job that gives them more time to spend with their friends or family.
A life purpose is something that makes you smile and sleep peacefully at night. And even if you don't find your life purpose, it is absolutely okay. Live your life on your terms and you will find your life purpose when the time is right. The more pressure and tension you have, the more confused you will be and will not have the clarity to understand your life purpose.
Q. Is there a particular moment with a client that has left a lasting impression on you? A moment where you felt a shift or breakthrough that truly exemplified the power of your work?
Yes. There was a client in her late 30s who had walked out of an abusive marriage and was scared to move forward into another relationship. When we finished her sessions, she told me -Please do not stop this work that you are doing. You don't know the impact that you are creating in people's life. That gave me the awareness that the work, however simple it is, is making an impact. This message gives me the motivation to do my work everyday.
