Khyati Sharma Interview
Q. How did your journey from theatre and early acting to becoming a digital creator begin?
I started acting on YouTube Vines with channels like Nazarbattu Productions, but at that time, I was also pursuing a B.Tech, so managing studies and content was challenging.Later, I switched to prank videos and got an invitation from Hungama Films in Delhi. My first video with them crossed 5 million views in just a few days. The producers suggested I start my own channel, and that’s when my independent digital journey began.
Q. You moved from prank-based content to personal fashion, travel, and lifestyle videos. What prompted the shift?
The prank industry in Delhi had become saturated. Everyone knew about pranks, so it became hard to create fresh content. That’s when I pivoted to acting-focused Instagram videos. This allowed me to explore emotions, relationships, and relatable storytelling more freely.
Q. How do your acting skills influence the way you create content?
Acting has always been a part of me, starting from school theatre and college plays. Today, I create all kinds of content, emotional, funny, relationship-based, or social commentary. My acting helps me make every video relatable and authentic, whether it’s conveying sadness, humour, or advice. It’s not just technique; it’s the instinctive “acting ka keeda” that guides me.
Q. How do you balance glamour with authenticity in your content?
I want my audience to feel what I feel. If a video is sad or relatable, they should think, “This happened to me too.” I maintain authenticity while also creating polished, entertaining content. This balance is why my Instagram has face value. My audience trusts that what I share is real.
Q. You’re building a strong digital presence while pursuing mainstream acting. How do you see your future unfolding?
Right now, my focus is on Instagram and YouTube, but I’m also auditioning for OTT projects and planning to move to Mumbai to explore bigger acting roles. One of my dreams is to participate in the next season of Bigg Boss, and I’m preparing to give it my best shot. My goal is to grow as both a digital creator and an actor while staying authentic to my audience.
