1. Tell us more about yourself and your profession.

Well, from an early age I was very athletic and was always keen to know about my capabilities (Physical & Mental). Also, I had this thing about influencing people around me. Help them with their struggles and hardships, make life easier for them. Even if I’m able to impact just 1% of their lives. So, I started Dancing, Football, Basketball & Martial Arts out of Passion in my high school, which introduced me to physical workouts. Later on, I started Strength Training & Yoga, did my certifications, and made it my career.

2. What is your fitness mantra?

CONSISTENCY & PATIENCE… be it with the workout or with the lifestyle. Take one step at a time, one small change in your lifestyle every single day can give you surprising results in the long run.

If you ask about my workout regime, I combine Yoga, Strength Training, Bodyweight Exercises & Martial arts to keep myself Strong and Agile.

3. What are some of the major misconceptions about diets and exercises?

There are many actually. But the major ones are:
#MYTH: “Eating Non-Veg is mandatory to grow muscles or be fit.”

#TRUTH: It’s not. In fact, being vegetarian will not only keep you more shredded naturally but also, it’ll save you from many Chronic and Lifestyle based diseases in the long run.

#MYTH: “Girls shouldn’t do strength training cuz it’ll grow them muscles and make them look masculine.”
#TRUTH: Unlike males, the Female body does not produce the amount of Testosterone required to build a Muscular Body. So, it’s easier for men to get bulky. In fact, women should add strength training into their schedule if they want to look more toned.

#MYTH: “Doing Aerobics and Zumba every day will get you in shape fast.”
#TRUTH: Not at all, it can actually give you a serious Muscle Loss & Joint Problems like Osteo-Arthritis, Tendinitis, etc. It will also restrict your weight loss process.

4. How can one maintain a healthy lifestyle?

If there is a will there is a way, it's really easy if you’re ready to make some adjustments. Don’t fall for these fancy crash diets and other shortcuts. Take out C.R.A.P. - Carbonated Drinks, Refined Sugars, Artificial Foods, Processed Foods food from your diet, . Give time to your body, even if it's just 15 minutes of a jog or walk, Yoga or any physical activity, do it. Drink plenty of water and have all the seasonal fruits and vegetables. And most importantly, be patient and accepting of your body.

5. How can one build a successful career in your field?

Ummmm.., I myself am going through that process but as much I’ve learned from my teachers and personal experiences, being a Fitness Trainer is a huge responsibility. You have been serious about your client’s goals. Also, you must be very flexible with your approach while training your clients. You should keep upgrading yourself, be very adaptive towards upcoming knowledge and trends. & some good communication skills are like a cherry on the cake.

6. What is one piece of advice you would like to give someone who wishes to lose weight?

There is this old saying, YOUR BODY BECOMES WHAT YOU EAT. A tip that you can try at home is, Eat you Breakfast like a King, Lunch like a Prince & Dinner like a Pauper, & don’t forget to drink 3 liters of water every day. Most importantly, do not try to starve yourself or skip a meal, you’ll end up eating junk that you were not supposed to eat in the first place.

7. How do diets and exercise contribute to overall well being and happiness?

Physical Workouts releases chemicals like Endorphin, Dopamine, etc. which plays a vital role in regulating your mood positively. And when you add on a good diet to it, it not only help you with your desired physique but also improves your gut health, removes unnecessary toxins from your body, gives you a constant rush of energy throughout the day. In short, all your purposes are solved by merely giving some time to your body.
