Antra & Aanchal: Turning a Simple Idea Into a Creative Community [Digital Creator, 122k Followers, India]

Antra & Aanchal Interview

“I don’t wait for the perfect idea or setup-just start.”

A single message sparked a journey that turned two sisters into the force behind TwinMeNot—but the real story begins after the dream takes off. In this interview, they reveal the mindset, unspoken rules, and shared vision that transformed a simple content page into a community built on creativity, resilience, and positivity.

Q. Being siblings and co-creators - how did your journey begin together, and when did “TwinMeNot” become more than just a page?

It’s a funny story actually. The idea started pre-COVID, when one of us was returning home from work, stuck at a traffic signal and feeling extremely frustrated with the corporate routine. In that moment, a simple message was sent: “Let’s start a page together.” The response came instantly-“Yes. A thousand times yes.” Initially, it was extremely casual. We would post one video every couple of months because content creation wasn’t the massive industry it is today. But during COVID, when we were suddenly spending all our time together under one roof, we started creating more consistently- partly as an outlet, partly to keep ourselves sane through the uncertainty.

Slowly, the videos started receiving immense love. We began conducting online workshops, and once restrictions lifted, we expanded into workshops across the country. But the real turning point came when we realized people genuinely connected with our journey. The audience wasn’t just watching our videos - they were finding comfort, positivity, and joy through them.

That’s when TwinMeNot evolved from being “just a page” into a genuine community built around dance, sibling energy, feel-good content, and emotional connection.

Q. You both share such natural sync in your dance and content. How does your bond as siblings influence your creativity?

Of course, growing up together naturally creates a sense of rhythm and understanding between siblings. But over the years, especially while running multiple businesses together, our synchronization has gone far beyond dance.

At this point, even our thought processes and “mental algorithms” function similarly. We joke about it often, but when you’re managing countless responsibilities together every day, being in sync becomes essential. That said, it doesn’t mean we always agree. There are differences in perspective, creative opinions, and approaches. However, one principle has always guided us: if something is a “hell yes” for both of us, we move ahead confidently. If not, we pause and rethink the approach. Over time, we’ve also built systems and emotional boundaries that protect both our relationship and our work. For example, if one person isn’t emotionally okay on a particular day, the other automatically steps up instead of escalating the situation. That understanding has been one of the strongest foundations of our partnership.

Q. Working so closely together, do you ever face creative differences? How do you handle them?

Absolutely. Creative differences are inevitable when two people work this closely together.

What has helped us is building healthy systems around communication and conflict resolution. We’ve learned to focus on the bigger picture and the common vision instead of getting stuck on temporary disagreements. One funny but important rule we follow is: both of us are not allowed to have a bad day on the same day. If one person is overwhelmed, the other takes charge and ensures things remain stable.

Another important lesson has been learning not to take disagreements personally. We address issues immediately, resolve them then and there, and move forward. We don’t allow negativity to linger into the next day - or even the next hour. That emotional discipline has made a huge difference, both creatively and personally.

Q. What does a typical day look like for you both while balancing content creation, teaching, and running your platforms?

Honestly, there’s no such thing as a “typical” day for us. Every single day looks different - and we genuinely enjoy that unpredictability.

Our schedules revolve around choreography, content shoots, backend operations, team management, workshops, planning, studio maintenance, finances, admin work, and coordinating across multiple business verticals. A lot of our days also involve unexpected problem-solving and “firefighting.” Instead of trying to balance every single day perfectly, we focus on balancing the week overall. Some days are extremely work-heavy, while others are intentionally slower to make room for family, fitness, recovery, and creative thinking. We’ve also become extremely intentional about organization and compartmentalization. Sometimes, the only way to stay calm is by saying, “That’s tomorrow at 3 PM’s problem.” It sounds funny, but it genuinely helps maintain perspective.

Q. Social media can become overwhelming. How do you maintain that “feel-good” energy in your personal lives?

We’ve always viewed TwinMeNot as a space for positivity, warmth, and comfort. While we absolutely experience difficult days like everyone else, we consciously avoid turning the platform into a space purely for negativity or constant ranting. If we do talk about struggles, we try to approach them honestly but with hope. Gratitude plays a huge role in how we navigate life and work. No matter how difficult things become, there is always something to be thankful for. Another important realization has been understanding how dynamic social media truly is. Algorithms change constantly, trends shift overnight, and there’s no permanent “top of the game.” The only sustainable approach is consistency, authenticity, and continuously showing up.

Whenever things feel uncertain, we go back to our roots - why we started, what made people connect with us in the first place, and what genuinely brings us joy. Staying authentic has always worked better than chasing trends blindly.

Q. What advice would you give siblings or friends who want to build something together but don’t know where to start?

The first thing is aligning your why. If both people don’t share similar motivations or complementary visions, sustaining something long-term becomes difficult.

Secondly, having similar value systems matters a lot. The way you look at people, work, ambition, and challenges should ideally align at a deeper level. Communication is another non-negotiable. Without healthy communication, even the strongest partnerships can struggle. And perhaps most importantly - don’t over-plan everything. A lot of people spend so much time analyzing ideas that they never actually begin. Sometimes, you just have to take the leap with whatever resources and knowledge you currently have, and figure things out along the way. Action creates clarity faster than overthinking ever will.

Q. What’s next for TwinMeNot? Any exciting plans or bigger dreams ahead?

Honestly, we feel like we’re only getting started.
Manifest is just the beginning. We hope to build more businesses that may or may not be in the same umbrella while continuing to grow as performers, entrepreneurs, and storytellers. At the same time, staying grounded and connected to our roots remains extremely important to us. No matter how much we grow, we always want the core of TwinMeNot to remain the same - positivity, authenticity, creativity, and community. The goal is simple: keep creating, keep evolving, and keep spreading good energy. Because for us, even the sky is not the limit.
