1.Tell us about your background and journey.
I am Ankita Raiturcar, the face behind Blended to Smooth. Since I was a little, I was always fascinated by how simple ingredients could come together to become something delicious. During the never ending lockdown, cooking has been a great stress buster and has also served as a creative outlet for me which led me to start my blog and it’s been 3 months since! Blended to Smooth is a platform where are showcase my passion for cooking.
2. Which is your favourite cuisine and dish?
There is nothing
that satisfies my palate more than our own Indian cuisine. When I was a little
girl, I spent hours in the kitchen with my mother, making a mess but learning
delicious traditional Indian recipes and preparing everything from scratch.
Today, I am that same little girl experimenting with different flavours and at
the same time trying to be faithful to my roots. And as for my favourite dish,
it's butter chicken with butter naan.
3. Should food
blogging be just a passion or can it become a regular career?
I really cannot comment much on this topic as I am just at the beginning of my blogging journey. Though cooking and blogging are my passion, I am currently pursuing my Masters in Pharmaceutics. We can only wait and see where this road takes me.
4. Which
restaurants/food joints would you recommend to food lovers?
Well, I'm not
very picky when it comes to food but as far as Goa is concerned, I'd suggest Spicy
family restaurant & bar (South Goa) and Bombil (North Goa) for authentic
Goan fish thali, Miramar stall number 21 for amazing street food, Seamen’s nest
and Starlight in Assolna for your seafood cravings and Fortune Miramar for some
delicious Butter chicken!
5. What makes you
appreciate a particular dish or a restaurant and talk about it on your blog?
I haven’t started reviewing restaurants or food joints on my blog yet during the current situation but I wish to as soon as everything settles down.
6. Is there a
dish you particularly associate yourself with?
Haha! This one’s funny! Maybe Ice cream! I am best when I stay cool and at the same time I melt down easily.
7. Which is your
favourite book and why?
I'm not much of a
reader but if I have to choose then it is 'The Big Book of Treats' by Pooja
Dhingra. It is one of the first few recipe books I have purchased and showed me
my calling.
